THE WILSON FILE - the arrogance at the heart of the innuendo

The club either employed the guy or it didn't. It would be easy to verify if it did.

This harpy has it in for our club and some of its officials and at every opportunity puts the boots in. I note that she refuses to mention any of the rumours surrounding one of her beloved Tigers.

She has now ruined one of the footy shows I previously enjoyed, Footy Classified, as I can't watch the show without seeing and hearing her. IMO she has less credibility than the AFL and that's saying something.

It needs to be cleared up.

Why has it been mentioned you ask. Well, did she get her man, the one she wants sacked, no he is still CEO.

exactly, so who is still in her ear about it?

Or has she just fabricated it to keep stirring the pot?

The AAMI Precinct is shared by more than the MFC, so if Dank was "seen" there why is it automatically to work for us?

Don needs to kill it off this week imo

Wilson's only "evidence" is a comment about "several" players having stated they had seen Dank in a facility occupied by three sports clubs. That's hardly evidence of any substance and more likely, is evidence of mischievousness on someone's part if not hers. If she is getting information and not making the whole thing up, it's likely that the source is one of the malcontents who want to destabilise the club. These are the same ingrates who started the Mifsud/Davey lie, who exaggerated the "vault" story with fictions about conspiracies far beyond the truth and who continuer to seek to undermine the coach to this very day. Such people know they can safely go to Wilson and give her a story that she can embellish to suit her now very obvious agenda wherever the MFC is concerned.

Yes we all concur with that.

But if this informant saw Dank at or near AAMI late last year are they still employed by the club.

That's what we need to know.

The story is a beat up. As has been pointed out more than once, if there was an element of truth in the inference that Dank and his activities were indeed associated with the MFC on a professional basis, she would have written about players claiming to have been treated by him and not just seen by them. She's not only spiteful; she's dumb.

More innuendo from the First Lady of muckraking.

Dons did not check Dank

"Dank was sacked by Essendon late last year and mystery surrounds his employment over the summer months. Melbourne has repeatedly denied he briefly consulted to the Demons, although several players have reported seeing him at the club's AAMI Park training headquarters."

Actually, IIRC Melbourne made it clear that Dank applied for a job and was rejected. That's consistent with someone being seen somewhere when applying for work and nothing more. If there was a skerrick of truth in Wilson's inferences, she would be telling us that players reported that he treated them, which is not the case.

There's far more truth in the rumours surrounding one of Richmond's favourite players. Wilson should concern herself with those.

Good chance for G lyon to win back some respect for himself and MFC by reinforcing the MFC message ("denied he briefly consulted" "Dank was rejected for job") and ask CW who players were? how did they identify Danks? did they know why Danks was there? If /when she refuses to answer or is unable to answer then ask why as a responsible journalist she did not research adequately? Why she did not ask Danks himself? had the players been treated and what for? who she interviewed at MFC and why she did not report their comments? if the MFC official is incorrect action could be taken!

Perhaps he could also ask as a journalist with close connections with Richmond can she identify the allegations of that team and quote the denials for them. If allegations are later confirmed she can then be dismissed as irrelevant.

The point is.... Why does she have to bring MFC name in on this issue at all? Dank has worked with other clubs...Geelong.... Gold Coast.... Why arn't they're name brought in? All this stinks of agenda and wilsons name is all over it....

The point is the other clubs have acknowledged that Dank worked with them, we have said he hasn't. She seems to believe this not to be true and that he has done some consulting work with us, she didn't say it outright but reading between the lines this is the accusation, she doesn't have enough faith in her source to come right out at the moment. The club needs to stomp on this if it is untrue as they've said in the past.

What's your problem mjt. Rumpole's commenting on something she wrote at the weekend. As has been pointed out by others, the way she brought Melbourne into this story was senseless and inane. In terms of her vendetta against Melbourne & Schwab, she's made some very dumb comments. There's a lot of egg on her face over this.

WGAF what she thinks.

I am well over her. Most people I talk to are as well.

The number of sackings she has 'called for' since July last year is around 16 and rising. Number sacked: 0.

She is a [censored] and most dislike her intensely.

"Time to build a bridge"? Even if for some unfathomable reason forum members wished to let bygones be bygones, are you seriously suggesting that if we all post nice things about her she will suddenly become a friend of the MFC? A very odd one-sided bridge.

That is so silly that I'll be generous and assume what you meant was that we should just ignore her and then we'll all feel better.

I will do so when she ignores us.

If anyone needs to build a bridge it's Wilson. She clearly harbours some long term grudges as we saw once again last night on Footy Classified when she tried to fire another shot in her ongoing war with James Brayshaw. The feud she has with Cameron Schwab has been going longer than the Hatfields and McCoys and must be an embarrassment to Fairfax.

To his credit, Eddie McGuire seems to be one of the few who has the nuts to stand up to her and he gave Wilson her rightful whack last night on Open Mike making it very clear that she's fast becoming a joke in the industry with her constant calls for resignations.

She of course, is the chief football writer for a newspaper that's going down like the Titanic.

All this thread does is give her air, why bother, she would flip through this thread every day and have a little chuckle to herself, the culprits know who they are.

Wilson never gives in when she's on a vendetta and this should please Bomber fans to no end.

Heat may be easing on Bombers but message deserves flak OR I might well have been wrong but I'll never admit to it

And even though she's probably not responsible for headlines, the one above could provide a clue to her informant on a few of the issues involving the Melbourne Football Club.

Wilson was in good form on 3AW tonight.

In the space of ½ an hour she sacked Essendon CEO Robson, chief assistant coach Bomber Thompson and had Mick Malthouse under the pump at Carlton.

It's what comes from working at Fairfax media where they sack people left, right and centre to the point where its so much a part of life that journos like Wilson must think sacking's an everyday occurrence everywhere.

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
