I'm not looking forward to the first intra-club match. Caro will be nut-deep up us if there's too much experimenting going on...

The image of Caro "nut deep" is both disturbing and puzzling on so many levels. Thanks for the afternoon laugh!

Look out if there's a group of players at 3/4 time revving each other up wanting to win.

It's looking like its the best first day of training they have ever had.

Some of em were flyin!

HT, do you mean revving as in revolting?

No.

The "I'm sick of losing, let's win this game, rah, rah, rah...c'mon!" Like players of several sides in the AFL say at 3/4 time, time to time, year-to-year.

In fact, all players playing the game do...

edit:

PS. But I was being sarcastic. And I could see how it could be interpreted as revolting by Caro. :)

Unless it's a group of players wearing red and blue playing at Geelong.

Other than that, as you were...

He looked (Trenners) a bit finer in the legs, it may have been an optical illusion but during the season he looked so heavy in the legs. I think he will be one that really steps up next season.

Yes, he's definitely fined down in the legs, which you'd think is to get some zip back.

With a face like yours BH maybe it wasn't Trenners legs thinning down you noticed, but something else, hardening up?

Noticed Watts smiling in that footage. Not impressed. I want to see nothing but glum faces during training.

I forgot about that, how MFC players are not allowed to laugh on camera.

Shame on Watts.

Smiling at training!!! more fodder for Caro's next piece.

Is it just me, or in that photo of McDonald kicking the ball does it look like he is being trained to drop the ball lower? I know it's only a photo but he looks like he is working on his kicking action under the watch of Neeld.

What does it say about my opinion of our coach that I read that as "the Wrath of Neeld."

A couple of things I noticed.

  • Spencer, Gawn and Fitz all look very big in relation to the others (this may be because they are). But seriously, Fitz looks a lot more imposing than he used to. Spencer is massive too
  • I watched Hogan doing handball drills with Fitz, Clark and a couple of others. The boy has some skills with his hands. Very sure, naturally coordinated. At one stage he was kicking the ball up to himself soccer ball style. He looked at home.
  • Grimes and Jones very prominent in his encouragement etc.
  • Dunny and Watts were training were working with the backs. (as promised)
  • Trengove looked sharp
  • Blease looked fit
  • Sylvia was sharp
  • Strauss was doing a lot of kicking out in defensive clearance drills

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
