I'll start us off with a couple ...

Sydney's 'Band of Brothers' and 'bloods culture'

The Leigh Brown type role

The designation of any up and coming young player as a 'Jet'

"Team XYZ is making a play for Joe Blow"

"So and so clunked that mark"

"We've got to get our structures right ." (They won't listen to me)

"It's all about the process ." (We need to be proper robots)

"We need to put some scoreboard pressure on ." (We're getting smashed)

"Our key performance indicators are down " (We can't get the ball)

"We need to get games into the list" (We need to bring in some experienced talent to replace these no-hoper's)

Like it Macca!

(Only one point. Not sure about the 'no-hopers'. Sounds more like a Neeld excuse! Perhaps it should read 'We need to keep some experienced talent and work with them.')

Could throw in another one Macca.

'Going to a club with a better culture'. (They made me a better offer!)

"Don't just bomb it, lower the eyes". Also read of Moloney being described today as 'Melbourne hardnut Moloney", wondering which game. substitute 'geelong hardnut (insert name) etc

Confusing post - the 'lowering the eyes' quote has been used by several coaches, but where's the relevance of the rest?

Well 'Hardnut' , I wasn't necessarily talking about our team but it's all good . I've been hearing these 'Hackneyed' phrases for years . All clubs come out with these sort of comments . You just know the 'Perpetrators' want to be more honest but instead of that, we get the 'Spin' . The worrying bit is that some fall for it ! :)

"Our key performance indicators tell us that we need to get our structures and processes right . We need to put some scoreboard pressure on as well . Our young list needs more 'Game time' experience and of course , another couple of 'Pre-seasons' is what this squad desperately needs" (We're no good)

"Got the job done" has been around for several years, but in 2012 it reached performance enhanced epidemic levels with commentators saying it repeatedly over-and-over, etc, et al, and the rest, ad nauseum.

This Game is in the bag...Result never in doubt...

I vaguely remember feeling this way a few times in '98 & 2000.

Didn't last long....

2000 was a great year, except for the Bombers, ala Carlton in '95....unbeatable.

The rebuilding should have started after that lost granny.

to be fair, in the even years between 00-05) we were top 4 except that the other top 4 teams were interstate teams and we could never bloody beat them interstate! no point rebuilding if you are top 6 and just missing one or two things.

"they got us on the spread" = we aren't fit enough

"it's important we stick to our structures" = we aren't individually skilled enough, so let's hope if we stand in the right spot the ball will come to us

"he's a quality person" = (1) what he makes up for in his lack of skill are his nice manners or (2) he's stuffed up this time but hopefully he'll learn his lesson if we repeat often enough that he's actually an OK guy

"wow wee" = BT's vocabulary isn't broad enough to find another phrase

Also love the name, are you familiar with the song Dante's Inferno by Iced Earth? It obviously covers the Inferno part of The Divine Comedy

1. "Lowering the eyes"

2. "hardnut"

Jack the blind miner could have worked that out!

PS i am not having a dig at your user name, but the term used in commentary.
