Pick 3 and Pick 4

if GC give pick 2 to the crows for tippett then the crows will definitely take toumpas at 2, being an adelaide boy an all

That's true, I've said the same on another thread. Although others think they may take Grundy instead of Toumpas to replace Tippett, my money would be on Toumpas...but we may get lucky.

I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere but Dawes will cost MFC Martin decent and pick of some sort.

Ad for Wellingham its pretty clear he wants to go home, apparantly isnt intersted in talking to MFC and his 'classy outside skills 'come with a kicking efficiency of 55%!!!

Some would say that therefor he fits right in I guess but I doubt its going to happen

Dawes just is not worth Martin + anything much, let alone the 13 that some have been talking about. I would rather keep Martin and use his as a defender who can ruck, especially if Riv flows down the bay to Corio.

If viney goes to our 2nd rnd pick we could probably afford to go for a tall (grundy) with our 3rd or 4th pick. If we have to use him early we would surely use the other top 5 pick on another mid.

My preference is:

pick 3: toumpas

pick 4: O'rourke/Grundy

pick 13: kennedy

pick 26: Viney

Why are all the melbourne staff talking about trading our picks 3 or 4 for the right player?

I just don't get it...furthermore to draft a 17 year old such as Hogan only for him to leave in a few years doesn't make sense to me also

Am I missing something here?

Yeah, what you have posted doesn't make sense to me either.

Weird.

If those picks are on the table, and GWS or GC have a chance of securing them, it offers an extra incentive for them to maybe not bid on Viney.

You know, GWS might think they'll get 3 or 4 or both for minidraft picks.

GC may think it's possible they could get pick 4 for Caddy & Toy, if we don't have to use 3 on Viney.

They don't bid, then we make whatever trades we want regardless to whatever impression they may have got.

It's all about making the waters murky, creating doubt and indecision, that may lead to a benefit for the club.

That's my take.

Basically, if gc bid for viney, then we must trade our first pick. Simple.

The question really is, if we have to trade our first pick, what is the best pick we can get?

Hogan

Tippett

Gaff

Caddy & toy

Dawes & wellingham

And so on.

The MFC is not silly enough to throw away one of the above mentioned trades so we can use pick 3 on viney, when we can still get viney 2nd round.

Really, it is a no brainer.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the F/S bidding takes place before anything else. If GC bids and we want Viney then we can't trade that pick

Have you not heard this?

Oh, I have.

Doesn't mean your post that worried we will trade pick 3 and then worried we lose said player after two years makes sense.

Worry less.

That would be my advice to Dees supporters.

On this forum I've heard it, as rumours, maybe some baseless media reports. Nothing of the sort from the club, unless the receptionist has been talking or maybe one of the cleaning staff.

Sorry to throw you back into the real world, but it is quite simple. It goes like this.

MFC- "GC, are you going to bid on Viney"

GC- "Yes"

MFC - "OK"

then we trade our first pick.

Absolutely clueless.

Stop posting, you clearly have no idea how this father/son thing works.

Lol

We can't get rid of it as the first thing that happens when trade week starts is the F/S bidding.

Lol

Genius! What could possibly go wrong with this plan? Ignoring that little thing about it not being at all how the system works, of course.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
