Tippett is arguably the best player on offer this year and is exactly who we need standing at CHF. Combined with Clark, we would just about have the best forward duo in the league.

Why are we going after a bloke (Dawes) that can't do anything other than run around like a headless chook, when a more complete player is ready to be made an offer.

It's well documented that we have a lot of spare salary so why not spend it on a player that has proven himself to be what we need rather than average players that 'might' become something.

Its time to stop 'experimenting' and DO SOMETHING!

Yes he is most likely to head home, but for us not to at least make an offer is a big mistake.

Culture yeah.

Swans rule.

Adelaide ferals will be frothing!!!

They'll be drinking the bong water and crying in to their cloudy beers.

But thats nothing new over there.

Won't help those alleged threats to him (pathetic thing to do), but watching the Swans you can't blame him for wanting to go there. They seem to have something special, and getting him will be a massive boost to Sydney's chances next year.

Is there anyone from the Swans we could look at in order to assist their trade?

Another AFL assisted Club raid - Scully and Tippett. Crows have had worst run than us, Bock, Davis & now Tippett - all funded by the AFL

As long as we crack the Sydney market and "grow the business" etc then who cares.

As long as morons from AFL states fund the venture.

Spot on I would be filthy if I were a crow fan. If the reports that Sydney are willing to cough up 900k a year for him are true he will be the 2nd most over paid player in the league. If tippet is worth that then buddy is worth 1.5 million a year.

I'd love to get Dan Hannebery back to Melbourne, but pick 13 wouldn't be enough and pick 4 is too much. And why would he want to leave such a great club ?

Pick 13 plus which player ?? Col ?

Anyway, a pipe dream.

Power move by the Swans to 'sign' a player that they have no hope of getting without organising a trade...

We will see.

Seems a bit of airhead to me to think he can tell the Crows 'nah, the Premiers instead thankz, Luv TipDog'...

Going to be very interesting to see how Tippett actually gets to the swans.

They have the lowest draft picks to offer, they can't get him in the draft if Adelaide refuses to trade.

But more interesting will be the 'renown' bloods culture. The only way to secure Tippett will be to offload some players ... curious to know how strong that culture is when it is likely that they will have to give up some serious sort of player in order to get Tippett. I can't see Adelaide agreeing to anything less than one of their top 10 players off of the list.

Are the swans prepared to damage their culture by being required to trade away a player potentially of the class of Hannebery, Jetta, Rohan or Kennedy.... Because that is what they will need to do to satisfy Adelaide. Bringing in a third party I don't think will help either, as the third party is going to want a quality 'premiership' player as well.....

If the culture is as good as it is, why would any of these players want to leave, the club just won a premiership, they are likely to be on a better salary due to the extra cap,..

I'd be tempted to do pick 4 for hannebry

We would do that in a heartbeat. 29 disposals in a GF at 21 years of age.

We would be dreamin'

Or maybe it is because of the million dollar offer on the table?

This is going to be interesting and will potentially cause a logjam.

If he is willing to move to Sydney, then you would think he would be willing to move to Melbourne?

It could be a long couple of weeks.

I love Hannebery, but I wouldn't.

Although I acknowledge that the club probably would. It's something the club would consider if they can get Viney in the second round.

I don't want to waste too much time on this one, but I would be all over Hannebery like a fat kid on a cupcake if there were any chance of landing him.

The thought of having he and Viney leading our midfield for the next ten years...

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
