The only way i'd be happy for Moloney to go is if it was to trade for Boak.

...but port would never do that as they can get Moloney for free as an agent AND also some compensation for Boak in a separate trade.

Wasnt there a rumour that Neeld told Maxwell that Beamer and someone else just refused to listen to him?

You have got to think a level deeper - Brent going to Port as a FA might not be as bad as you think.

It's amazing and archaic that we don't have sign-and-trades in the AFL. Embarrassing.

A sad ending if true, for someone who was traded to the club he adored as a child, took on a leadership role and flourished in a midfield role last year.

Can't help but feel that most of this is his doing.

Of course it takes two to tango, but if his attitude was right, I don't think his decline in output would have bothered Neeld so much that he would dump him from the leadership group and not even give him a farewell game of sorts.

If Beamer does end up leaving, I wish him all the very best at another club, but I hope he has learnt his lesson. Don't [censored] where you eat. Sometimes change is hard, but headbutting it only makes it harder, and gives you a sore head.

Of course Jaded It is possible he has been offered a contract for 2013 and beyond and there is no need for a farewell game.

Yes I know there is an Easter Bunny too

So you love footy because of the money? Silly comment WYL.

It aint silly at all. Since 2007 this club has paid over $54 million in player wages. Do you think the members have got value for money over the last 5 years Stuie?

I don't. I have had to sacrifice to pay the MCC & MFC Memberships each year.

You obviously struggle to see the big picture.

No i get the big picture. Struggled to see Brent in it much in 2012 though.

He was given ample chances.

My girlfriend caught the end of it while I was in shower...what exactly did they say?

Probably Port but he used to be best mates with Gazza,so he may play up here.

Since I can't see the papers scrambling for the scoop, or the club(s) scrambling for a press conference, I'm assuming this reported in a rumour context and not a fact context.

Not so.

Never been close to young Gaz.

(Speaking from personal experience having known them both since before being drafted.)

Apparently the story is on News.com/Herald Sun - if true and he goes, we have lost - another casualty of poor coaching.

No surprises, he hardly seems to be at the top of Neeld's plans right now. Good luck to him, can't fault his commitment the last few years and I hope he goes well but if he's not enjoying it and the coach isn't keen on him then he may as well go and play regularly elsewhere.

Port or Gold Coast would be a pisstake though.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
