To make it clear it's fine if you question LJ's work ethic, kicking style, hairstyle. Not ok to state ...6. Liam Jurrah - its pretty clear that he may be in jail in 2013,

How does this indicate or paint you as racist? Paranoid maybe?

The question is a bit ambiguous. It could also mean "who do you think Neeld will cull?" which is quite a different question. And perhaps a much more relevant question.

I don't think the question is ambiguous at all. The question clearly asks who you would cull, not Neeld.

The key difference? Most of the guys on this list have been around for three or more years.

Neeld's been around for 17 games.

RR

This is the players first year under Neeld and his new game style. They need at least another year to adapt?

Except for the bit at the end that says "if you were Mark Neeld".

Let a thousand flowers bloom.

.......and.....wait for it.....yet another "who is to be culled" thread.

Thanks -- we haven't had enough of these yet. How about another next week, or maybe even tomorrow.

That's 3rd highest number of votes. You'd make a great labour party statistician hah ha. You must be doing Juliar's poll numbers...

I bet that's what the players managers are all saying as well. But Bail will always be a butcher,Bate and Dunn will always be too small to play as a target forward and too slow to play in the midfield,Bennell will always been soft and Morton will always be to skinny and slow to be a midfielder. Whoever is the coach they can't change that. It's not all about adapting to gameplans some blokes just aren't up to it.

Hope Bate will stay. If we trade Bate will come back to bite us on the bum.

How exactly? Bate should have gone to the Doggies and believe me he wanted to as he was given very few opportunities under Bailey. Neeld talked him into staying to try him in the midfield. he hasnt set the world on fire there and hasnt played well as a centre half forward type in seasons. He might struggle to get picked up by another team now.

I personally think we have bigger problems list wise than Bater.

What I think will happen at seasons end will be that many might pay for the sins of a few. The history of pumping years and seasons into players on potential and faith that is not ultimately repaid means that Neeld will probably feel compelled to be more ruthless this time. Some might potentially need another season to show they can play under Neeld's gameplan and Misson's hardcore fitness regime, but some wont get it.

There are some superb players in the WAFL. It aint the best standard obviously but we could get some cheap pickups there (the WAFL Demons have a cracker of a forward crumber).

We might struggle to get a few free agents and quality players at the end of the season because we arent exactly an attractive option at the moment. So really memberships and good strong support-base is an important thing. I assume that a player that was wavering on an offer could at least be comforted by the fact we had as many members as St Kilda this season despite being utter shizen.

Why is Lucas Cook on this list and not Troy Davis? It seems to me that their situations are very similar, two KPPs who can't after nearly two years make into one of the least talented sides in living memory that is full of injuries.

Better judges than me might see a difference between them, but I don't.

can we get these types of threads banned? im getting sick of the constant THIS GUY SHOULD GO! really annoying and seriously makes me hate being a Dee's supporter with so many people wanting to drop half the club.

It's posts like these that make me cringe.

It's a football forum for christ's sake, what do you expect? Go and start a thread that praises every player on the list and enjoy all the other posts that agree. You're living in fantasy land.

The people that care most about our CLUB are the ones who have the ability to critically analyse the playing group and any other facet of the club that contributes to our level of performance.

You need a wake up slap and I'd be more than happy to give you one.

I would wait before having a serious cull. I am still of the opinion that if the board, CEO and certain other non FD people were to go, our on field performances will improve dramatically something akin to what has happened with Adelaide's reversal this season.

lol

Yeah, Schwab is why we suck...

NSC is right with how he has structured the 'delisted list' - I believe most OOC players have been told that contracts will not be signed until October when the club has a better idea of what talent is out there that might spill from other clubs.

So we will doing this till late October.

And RR - get Gysberts back on there. I am sorry to those who see his talent - he hasn't impressed.

Simply couldn't disagree more.

CS was a problem last year that was a convenient excuse for a playing group that has been underwhelming for years. He is not the issue nor any other of the football dept.

The players want for nothing in terms of support, coaching and facilities. Lunch cooked for them everyday by a chef.

Seriously the players we have were rubbish under DB and continue to display the same ethic and football smarts/ability under MN.

How many more admins/coaches can we sack before the players actually grow and do something?

Reality we don't have players who are up to AFL standard.

If we don't cull and wait another year to give them a chance with MN gameplan we will be in the same position with even more pressure on the club and players, not to mention our own sanity!

I got a laugh by this post. No mucking around here. But rumours from the club are circulating that its a 10-12 player cull and here's my take on who and why:

Gawn:

1. Cale Morton - love him or not, Neeld gave him a chance this season and he's back at Casey. Enough said... has to be traded as signed to end of 2013.

2. Bail - sure he tries but he is a butcher as another said above. I dread every kick.

3. Bartram - a real trier, and seems like a great bloke as a person, but again poor disposal and we have too much of that.

4. Davey - the foot is mangled, he has a permanent limp and has lost the passion. Great player but time to move on

5. Fitzpatrick - I feel for this bloke with his health problem. Probably needs more time but i cringe.

6. Liam Jurrah - its pretty clear that he may be in jail in 2013, but if not I get strong feelings and indications that few under Neeld are happy with his work ethic.

7. Brent Moloney - I used to love this bloke. Heart and soul and all that, but he's just too slow now days and seems to spend more time barking orders than leading by example

8. Matty Bate - an old friend of his is my third-hand club source so I will lose that, but the Bate as a midfielder experiement has failed.

9. Cook - hasnt had a chance but doesnt look likely to break into the side any time soon - a real point given a hack could

10. Joel MacDonald - he's been ok of late, but you can never relax whent he ball is in his hands. Tries, but sometimes that might not be enough.

11. Bennell - too many chances

Rumours:

11. Jordan Gysberts - I keep hearing he is on the outta for poor work rate, but i think he has a lot of natural talent so would be a shame.

trades:

12. Colin Sylvia - Sydney would love him and at his best he is inspiring, but he's best is just too fickle and perhaps its time to change

13. Rivers - might get cained for this but we have enough defenders now and we need to get one with a bit of run and carry. A ward style runner out of the back half.

Keepers:

14. Dunn - some might totally disagree but he is given a role and more often than not he plays it - Neeld likes players that do that.

15. Petterd - has been very poor this year but should get another year given previous years

16. Luke Tappscott - I like this bloke and despite having a small impact on some games, he gets himself in the right places at times. So Im glad no one has voted for him.

??

17. Stef Martin - all over the shop

18. Couch and Magner - good VFL solid players but are they part of our AFL future?

19. Sellar - a few games he has looked alright, others he has looked below VFL standard.

This

Most people here won't know Riv - top bloke no doubt - Lacks leadership and lacks the hard nails win at all costs spirit

I know we are short of experienced bloke but I would move Rivo on. Don't get me wrong top bloke, but I don't know how to put this - he doesn't care

Didn't Jack Watts say something along the lines of...I don't care whether we win or lose?

Btw, West Coast are ripping the Lions a new one.....Darling is killing them (and the Number 2 pick...)

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves.
