I was at the game and this is unmitigated crap. I know he's a soft target for everybody, but he did put his body on the line on a number of occasions, especially when he was running on the wing and knew someone was coming the other way. He's lost me too, because of his decision making and turnovers, but he played a decent game at Frankston.

Unlike others I think this week's team selections will be fascinating. We've a month of the season to go, there will be major changes at season's end, we've got players such as Morton and Gysberts coming off good games and we're up against the Gold Coast at home. Chatting to my Brother today and he's convinced that if Morton and Gysberts are not selected for this game then you won't see them at the club next year. I think he's right. If you're not going to play these two players now they're definitely not in your future plans.

then they had better play Gys this week.

In: Cook, Williams, Gysberts, Watts, Jurrah

Williams in would be a "great story" but isn't he still a rookie?

This makes sense to me too. You'd think if they are fit enough they will be inclusions this week against GC because I can't really see a better opportunity- timing wise or opponent wise for them to start showing if they have something to contribute.

Do you think Cook is in the same boat?

Cook kicked 1 goal in the first quarter last week, in a winning side, from a lucky free kick and that was it; do you think that warrants a call up?

He is struggling to play seconds football and probably won't be at the club next year.

Jetta gone for 1 week via MRP, and now Nicholson out for 3 weeks with a jaw fracture...

I reckon it will be...

IN: Gysberts, Morton, Couch, Tynan (longish shot)

OUT: Jetta (sus), Nicho (inj), Dunn, Sellar

Dunn did enough and Sellar needs work - I think they'll stay in.

I don't know, I didn't see the game, did you? Did he do anything at all? Lack of effort or soundly beaten by opponent?

Just think we're a bit big and slow against a quick team like GC if we have Martin, Spencer, and Sellar all in.

And surely it's time to chuck in some new names, Dunn was serviceable but not that good, which sums him up really, and Neeld may have seen enough to know what he's going to do, whereas he may want to find out more about some of those ins I had.

I dunno, it's kinda hard to care that much...

That probably covers it stuie

Not sure it will make a lot of difference who comes in.

With a total of 17 unavailable this weekend we are scraping the bottom of a pretty ordinary barrel.

Does anyone know what contingency the AFL has for a team that has maybe only 21 listed players available? I guess, like most things, they will make it up as they go along.

With Nicholson and Jetta both unavailable, I'd be shocked if Gysberts and Morton don't get a game this week.

Would love to see Evans too, but not too sure of his eligibility.

Any chance Fitzpatrick instead of Spencer?

We couldn't get a goal while Spencer was rucking.

Sad to say, for the first time ever, I am beyond caring....but a tall forward, Fitz and or Cook could be worth a look, surely.

Fitz it is mate

Cook is struggling to be a VFL player

He still looks and plays like a skinny kid who has just been drafted.

Having said that we are playing the kids this week and we are scraping the bottom of the barrel so who knows.

And like a quite a lot Dees supporters I am struggling to stay interested in the remaining games

Don't see why JT would be dropped. I think he played okay on Saturday.

Jack Trengove cost us 4 goals directly from "his" turnovers. Watch the game. His kick from the centre to the wing to a double teamed Joel Macdonald was a real stinker, of under 10's standard. Instead of a kick to the 15metre hotspot in front of goals, he went Negative.

I continue to support JT, and believe he will come good. But ... he is just hanging on his spot.

I wouldn't mind seeing a forward line with Fitzy in it. Him and Green could cause some headache's I think/hope. I don't think FItz is much of a ruckmen but as a mobile tall forward he could be good.

Seems like a little beauty when compared to Jack Darling. WCE must be roaring. With laughter that is.

Agree. He also handballed directly to a North player who then goaled. Thought he had an awful game.

This is how I currently feel. For the first time. Ever. My club, is hurting and so too my fellow supporters. I can feel it. And i feel for the red and blue faithful. I'm also furious.

I was happy to see the work Jim did for the club in mending fractured relationships within the club, becoming united - and still in many ways they still are. I want that maintained. But I see now the line of questioning and it's akin to throwing mud. Agenda's being driven, calling for Neelds head after half a season.

Eventually, if you throw enough mud, some of it is bound to stick. What I would like to see however, from those questioning "Neeld" is their solution to what they believe should take place. When, who, what and where ? And what will be the cost ?

I've always wanted my kids to grow up following the club I love. But not a club whose reputation is tainted and literally stinks. Time heals wounds as they say, but the recent admission about experimentation by a former player is as damning if not more than Baileys admission last year upon his sacking after 186.

And for the record Neelds been experimenting all year with positional changes, yet no one has said "Boo"!

I don't know if Neeld can coach, much like I didn't know if Bailey could coach after 2 years at the helm. The common denominator is the lack of quality players between the two coaches and a list in licorice all sorts thanks to some poor recruiting and negligence conducted by the predecessor in the Reverend and his honchos.

Dare I say, if Mitch Clark was uninjured our structure would look a lot better and we may not be 2-15. But that's speculative at best. But one hell of a hunch !!!

The focus was always going to be on this coming weeks game v Gold Coast. Now, even more so given the sh!tstorm that has eventuated, probably courtesy of an agenda or two. -Not unusual for this time of year being Round 19 and all.....

What changes do I predict, you ask ? (stop rambling - sorry monoccular piqué my interest)

Out: Jetta, Dunn, Nicholson.

In: Gysberts, Magner, Morton.

Instruction: Go for the win !

Pretty sure rookies can play now, eg couch.

For those who highlighted jurrah in my 'ins'. It was more a desperate plea to get the man back in if possible due to our lack of forwards, clearly wont be in though.

Williams and Cook two prong attack. Why not? Could we really do worse?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
