Chris Judd's chicken winging of Leigh Adams

Range Rover

Recommended Posts

Adams left the ground again late in the game in a lot pain holding his shoulder and those [censored] commentators laughed it off even saying "Juddy weakened him"

Those muppets at channel 7 surely are done after this year!?

For those that don't think there was much in that - I have done my shoulder once this season, thankfully not that bad but if someone 'winged' me like that I would be on Land more, let's say that...

If someone had done that to Judd they would be a sense that they are in immediate and terrible trouble.

He should go and it should finish Carlton's season and they have no-one to thank but the great Champion of Recycling himself.

Actually watching that now with the sound I have to say that the behaviour of the 7 commentators was only slightly less disgraceful. Their inane giggling at Judds actions really backs up the thoughts of the man in the street that this bloke is treated defferently to the rest by the media mugs.

Agree.

The response of the Kanga guys around the pack was remarkable.

When they realised what the bald gap mouthed creep was doing they reacted as if they were saving someone from being hit by a car,not 'flying the flag' in the usual tough guy argey bargey of football.

The blokes got form and its all gutless....Beamers boxing camp with one hand tied behind his back would be a fair penalty

I thought Judd was best on ground....It's a pity that frustration makes him do stupid acts like this...2 weeks.

and here is the Carlton response in regards to the incident

"Carlton assistant coach Alan Richardson defended Judd on Melbourne radio SEN, saying the skipper was intent on stopping Adams from handballing and did not want to hurt him."

FFS that would have to be one of the worst defences I have heard.

Hope he goes for that dog act!

I reckon it won't be long before Judd starts squirrelling or doing a Hopoate.

Great player, champion, but what a weasel act to do to a defencless player on the ground.

If I was a Norf supporter, I would be very proud of my players reaction to Judd's arm twist. Putting him straight on his arse.

Why the hell is he being defended so heavily?! (Obviously not here!)

Is the media and the AFL so desperate to have a player of his quality so squeaky clean?! If this had been Sam Mitchell, Brent Guerra, or Steve Baker everyone would've been jumping up and down!

It was a dog act, forget whether or not he was meaning to hurt the bloke it could've done some serious damage.

MRP is already a joke but will be evn more so if he doesn't get at a least a week.

The news today is that Leigh Adams suffered a subluxed shoulder as a result of Judd's tackle. That's going to make it even harder for Judd to escape a penalty. I originally thought he might get just one week but I reckon that it's starting to look like two.

How will the MRP rate it though, there is no contact and no impact. It's him tugging the blokes arm out of the shoulder. This is a real challenge to the MRP because it doesn't fit into their system, and really if they can't work this one out send it to the tribunal.

Unduly rough contact? Intentional? Contact severe?

Just shoot the dog.

Interested To note that when I was watching the Melbourne V Fremantle game on foxtel yesterday ( I live in Sydney) that they tried to say Colin Garland did the same and that maybe this is a new trend in footy. Personally isawnothing similar In the two acts other than there was a tackle. Let's see what happens.

He should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute and left to the mercy of the tribunal. 5 weeks.

This!

It is proven that he is a sniper of the highest order and shouldn't be held in as higher esteem as he is.

His brownlow medals should be handed back as he certainly has been the best in the past although the award's specific criterion is "fairest and best", reflecting an emphasis on sportsmanship and fair play.

He was charged with 'misconduct', which allows the MRP to send the incident directly to the Tribunal. Which they should do, as they can't properly assess it using their points system, as there wasn't really an 'impact'.

I'm wondering if Judd has been sucked in by all the glory heaped on him in the media.

It almost seems to resemble a doctor with a God complex, in that only Judd can have/get the footy and that he alone controls the terms and outcome of the contest.

However he seems to have an urge to achieve that goal in a brutal manner and is unable to resist at the expense of all reasonable thought.

He has done some incredibly bizarre things, with many of the victims in a prone position unable to protect themselves, and it may be that these incidents become more frequent if the pressure to deliver for Carlton increases.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players.  Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin Boeing 737 flight to Perth for this upcoming team-bonding, fun-filled, weekend getaway.   This cross-continent Round 4 clash at Fremantle Oval starting at 2:05pm AEST promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies slight favourite.     If we lose, finals will be remoter than Rottnest Island and the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday, an omen.

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int
