We dont need Cloke...we would have him but do we need him?

Stats to date 2012 for Mitch & Cloke...

Yes he would be a great addition to MFC but at 5 Million no way......

We should invest in the midfield first.

Anyhow..take a look at the stats at Finalsiren.com

Sorry I cant post the stats so they are readable..proved a little hard.

Not that I'm saying get Cloke, but if we had him chances are those statistics could be better.

Not to mention that if 1 of them went down we'd still at least have another target, right now with no Clark we're back to where we were last year with no one to kick to in the forward line.

Some fella got 6 goals for Casey last weekend, think his name was Green

Yeah, have to agree..We just dont have a decent target now that Mitch is gone.So in that aspect he would be good but I just dont want to pay him that much coin.

As for Brad Green Olisik...unfortunately he is finished at AFL level.

Kicking six in the VFL is great...for casey.......... but in reality when was the last time he did that for us in Demons colors.....he will retire end of year IMO

Brad Green is gone, I hate to admit it as he is one of my all time favorite players but its time to go. I hope he proves me wrong and turns back the clock but I agree with Tapscott and he will retire.

Cloke is a must!

Get him in with our young midfield and we will start to see the wheel turn.

I think the Dees maybe looking at something like this;

Pick 3 - Draft (Grundy)

I think GWS could take him, but I am hearing they will finsh bottom and take Whitfield. Not sure if GC need another big bloke at the moment. They may take best midfielder.

Pick 4 - Travis Boak

Pick 13 - Draft

Pick 23ish - Jack Viney

Free agent: Travis Cloke

I would hate this out-come

No Stringer, Wines or Toumpas but we take another ruckman??

No way!

Been a good player but he's finished. He'll be lucky to get 6 more goals for the year in the Melbourne side.

Only has to do it it once then Howe once then Martin once then Garland once then rivers once then Watts once

Its the value of having some flexibility in the squad and not relying on one egg in the basket

Thats the sort of flexibility that the coach canuse if he has more than one game plan.

Of course it would be nice if they all played with Clarkes endeavour and determination but I am not sure that any of those above can sustain that sort of effort But then again either can Clarkeif he gets injured.

The Herald Sun headline writers are already salivating at the prospect of "Clark, Cloke click" when they fire and "Cloke, Clark clunk" when they don't.

(Note: Don't read anything into the order of the names. It's just the gestalt way they I wrote them)

I think Brad deserves to go out in the firsts-and I think he will .

There is no one at the club who has been here longer than him-we should show him some love and ease him out the door -not push like we did Jmac .

awesome forward line with Cloke, Clark and Jurrah. IMO the exiting mids, Gysberts, Jones, Moloney, Sylvia, Mctagger and perhaps Couch would all lift for the occasion especially with the Neeld "Kick long to Contest" game plan.

Anyone who thinks Cloke is a good fit for our side hasnt been watching games this year.

A midfield that this season is ranked one of the last for forward 50 delivery. Lets have two expensive players standing around all day in the forward 50 because we lack the class in the midfield to get the ball to them.

You get two classey midfielders out of other sides and you can have a hack taking marks alongside Clark, have Sellar attracting a few defenders and get a crumber.

i doubt Jurrah will play again to be honest. Nothing has made our midfield lift at any other time this season so why would they then? But Gysberts does have potential.

Cloke and Clark has the same sort of ring to it that Schwarz and Neitz had.

I hope you're wrong, NSC....Such a waste if this talented man doesn't realise his full potential.

Anyway, Cloke is ready to sign with the Pies so all this is hearsay.

The argument against getting Cloke is obvious. We should be spending the money on top quality midfielders. However, suppose there aren't any to be had in off season trading or free agency? A lot of money is going to be freed up in the salary cap next year. Green won't be there. Davey might not be there. Between them they must be making close to a million. The money has to be spent (or at least 92% of it has to be spent.) If not on Cloke, then who is the money going to be spent on? The sad fact is that there is no one on the list who deserves a fat contract extension or who could command big bucks on the open market.

Apart from Boak everyone on here must be in dreamland if they think we are going to lure Dayne Beams! Seriously, flag contender to bottom 6 to mid tier team! HAHA! KEEP DREAMING!

Boak is the only realistic midfield target that we can aim for this year, and Cloke would fit nicely at CHF, somewhere where we have broken down for the past 6 years! Cloke doesn't cost draft picks, just salary cap room. Boak costs picks

I'm not sure I understand this. Are you saying Beams wouldn't want to leave Collingwood because he'd be going from a flag contender to a lower ranked team but Cloke would?

SCOOP OF THE YEAR!!=JURRAH WON'T PLAY AGAIN....

let's all copy and paste this back to Norm Smith after Jurrah's next game.

I think Jurrahs career pends on a court case or two...IMO.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
