WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JIMMY TOUMPAS

No, because I wouldn't take Scully for his lack of sublime skill, or even decent skill.

Whitfield is also bigger, looks like he will fill out a lot better, and is good overhead.

you have obvioulsy haven't seen whitfield play then coz he AINT big! match stick just like morton was when we drafted him (still is)

Well I have, and he's bigger than Scully.

Looks taller at least.

And I think his frame looks like it will fill out better.

You asked how it was "progressing".

So obviously you have no idea what the surgery was aimed at fixing, why then did you feel the need to post at all?

Perhaps its because your ego is bigger than...

If he is not in red n blue next season onwards I will be severely disappointed by an already disappointing club.

Considering I see him as a clear number 2 pick, while we have pick 3... I think you may be in for some disappointment due to your own unrealistic expectations.

Dont want to break your ego or anything but what you 'consider' him to be may not necessarily be what he goes. Many others see Grundy as pick #2

Fact is GC need Grundy less than GWS at this stage, would have been a whole lot more likely if GWS hadnt beaten Port imo

GC- Smith and Gorringe

GWS - Giles and maybe Brogan who is set to retire

If he's there we have to take him! averaged 22 disposals at 86% efficiency!! that is exactly the kind of player we need... skillful, can find his own ball and can actually hit some targets! i'm sick of stupid turnovers costing us by hand and foot...

Due to his injury/operation there is a pretty good chance others will overtake him in the run home. O'Rourke seems to be killing it at the moment. Mayes may come out of his shell or confidence in Garletts off field issues may be resolved.

Bump.

Hard to believe this thread was last seen on Aug 20 and found 5 pages back. With recent events this guy could very well come into the picture at pick 4, depending on GWS' recruiting. Recent weeks discussion has mainly centred around Wines.

Jack Viney named today Toumpas as a player to watch, speaking of his admiration for the way Toumpas prepared and went about his footy.

If he is available at our pick he is a must get. He is all class. We need gun midfielders, and that means whoever is there out of Toumpas, O'Rourke or Wines.

I watched an interview with this kid yesterday and he refers to him self as "an outside midfielder" who plas and likens himself to Bryce Gibbs. This bothers me big time. Gibbs is not what the MFC need anymore of!

That was kids doing and interview a couple of years ago. You can guarantee if Jack Viney thinks he is a player then he isn't a soft outside mid.

Im half with you their, but then you have Deledio who also plays a similair style and Toumpas could be a similair player to him.

Would be a tough call between Toumpas and O Rourke I think.

I am leaning more and more towards O Rourke though as in the u18's he was a major ball-magnet with both inside and outside mid abilities and I think has a bit more dimension to his game as well as great evasive skills and is harder to predict his movements. (Would shake a tag much better then Toumpas in my opinion)

He does present pretty well.

Mature attitude with a pretty well focused plan

Not so concerned with the Bryce Gibbs alignment.

Would fit into the largest Greek city outside Greece but reckon he might like the West Coast connection and could end up back there.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
