Out: Clark Magner

In: Cook Gysberts

Before anyone jumps down my throat about magner just rancho relaxo, Gys to come in for some added polish and skill and unfortunatly someone has to be forced out. Massive fan of jimmy and the way he goes about it but its just the way the cookie crumbles. As for Cook, he seems to be coming along nicely for Casey. Wouldnt mind seeing him as the sub. Realistically we are probably going to finish around 14-16th so I dont really see the harm in playing him. Hes got to get experience at some point so get him in.

So, you want to put Jamar at full forward, where he will fall to his knees at the slightest sight of the ball. This guy spends more time crawling around a footy oval than any player I've seen. At least put someone there who can stay on their feet.......Martin.

I think that this maybe underestimates the value of the specialist coaches now in place. Leigh Brown is well-qualified to give advice to a forward/ruck role such as Jamar would provide. Given that his non-ruck performance has shown some improvement, his kicking accuracy is certainly better than the SME. As I see it, his major weakness as a forward is that he's a bit/lot static. If he used his bulk on a lead, he would be frightening - both to the opposition and Dees. There has been a fair bit of comment about the coaches' desire not to be reliant on single role players, this would be a positive development - if it works!

dunn is one of my favourite players.

Patton kicked a goal. while our whole team was watching him get pats on the bum by his team mates with a big grin on his face, dunn went straight through them and smashed him in the chest and told him he was still $#!T

He gets into players heads and then they're constantly wondering when he's going to smash them and niggle them.

I noticed soon after a contest they were both involved in - patton was trying to hit dunn with his body and was going the man not the ball, dunn just won the possession and kicked it away while patton was cooked.

LOVED IT.

OUT: Clark (inj.), Blease

IN: Martin, Bail

IMO Blease hasn't done enough defensively. Was only a late inclusion for Bail on Sunday.

If Bail is still out, bring in the Gys. Considering the 'concussion test' is on the Friday, we'll know by then if Bail is in or not. If Gysberts isn't a definite to play, leave him at Casey so he at least gets to play out the match.

B: Sellar Frawley Nicholson

HB: Watts Garland McDonald

C: Trengove Grimes Bail/Gysberts

HF: Howe Rivers Sylvia

FF: Dunn Martin Magner

F: Jamar Moloney Jones

S: Bate McKenzie MacDonald (Davey)

Magner does look like he could use a rest.

Martin must come in for Clark. Sellar can't be used this week as back up ruck as someone has to play on Merrett and must be physically big enough to do so. (If Merrett and Sellar collide, Brisbane might experience its own 5.3 earthquake.) And someone big and strong has to play on J Brown, too. Will be interesting to see if Tom McDonald gets that job or whether Rivers gets sent back.

While I'm a fan of Bail, after his longer than anticipated absence and because of the good performances of most players against GWS, he may be better suited to a full game with Casey. But if the match committee want him in the side, I suspect it will be Sam Blease that goes out.

I'm generally no fan of Dunn, but credit where it is due. I thought he did well on Sunday and he looks to me to be best suited to a HBF role and should be given another chance. And Bate was my choice for 2nd BOG (Jones being BOG) so I can't see him being demoted.

I'm confident Tapscott has a future but he may have to wait another week until a vacancy arises.

So, in short, In: Martin Out: Clark (inj) with Moloney to start as the sub.

Good stuff! I was only kidding. Just out of curiousity & totally off topic...what does the great rpfc stand for?

Haha, good luck.....I tried once and he went all coy about it

Ringwood?

Oh, DC, you're too much.

For this game as little change as necessary . Martin for Clark. Maybe Bail...if fit.

Yes lets not forget Moloney is meant to be our no.1 dominating beloved A grade Dees mid who bleeds red & blue gun..... What was I saying - oh yep, he needs a spell!!!

In addition we had 48 hitouts to GWS 27 or so so we dominated and you would have expected to see our midfielders like Moloney to prosper - the first quarter was shocking in that respect with the ball just pouring in tot he GWS forward line.

I'm not Dunn's biggest advocate but I'd be disappointed if he was dropped after his effort last week. I quite enjoyed seeing him being pushed up the ground and providing a reminder that he isn't just an excellent kick of the footy when taking a set shot from 40m. His tackling and pressure was also first class. Performance needs to be rewarded.

In - Tapscott, Martin

Out - Clark (inj), Moloney

I'm not convinced that Brent is playing a role but I'm happy to be proven otherwise. Until then, he needs a run in the magoo's to find some touch.

Ummmm have you seen Jamar's taps this year? They go to no one. But don't let the facts get in the way of a good old Beamer bashing hey...

You have my vote jurrahcane with one very minor change

Spencer will not be an emergency.

With the current state of our list i.e injuries and not yet fit players

I think that is about as good as we can pick.

Big statement coming up

"That team should be able to match Brisbane"

Looks about right to me.

Cook maybe named as an emerg to give him a push, getting close mate, keep working hard type of thing.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
