Hi,

After a trial of the "locker room" forum, we've decided it didn't work as well as we thought and have decided to abandon it. Player talk can go back in the "main" forum as before.

Please note that if you start new threads when there are clearly existing threads (especially on the first page!) that you could use, you'll still find your topics being merged with existing ones.

Cheers

RIP locker room

Yeah.

Ok, fine, but if people don't go to the search function at the top right and find a previous thread of the player, I am going to ridicule you.

Do I think Jones can play in a flag winning team?

I don't know, go and find one of the 5 threads that discussed this while you were on holiday/in rehab/in diapers and read it for yourself!

What's better, 5 threads discussing it, or one thread discussing it 5 times over?

The latter, preferably with a devolution into semantics of what constitutes a 'star' other than a celestial object visible in the night sky...

And you're right to ridicule rp in that case.

Understand the frustration, but the message board is far more active. Search engine for support is the clear method.

I was just responding to the Rest In Peace part...

So don't worry about that...

Just make sure to look for previous threads on players and all will be well...

The fortunate thing about running a site is that you get to act on your own personal bias at times :P

I was only half-serious about that. I wasn't a fan of the LR but canning it wasn't my idea and it was the general consensus of the admin group, not just the opinion of one person. I did think it was an idea worth trying.

Please, we all know you are sitting behind a giant desk playing us all like silly puppets.

"More Jack Watts threads is what we need", you say with an evil laugh.

Yep. We borrowed the desk from CS.

I didn't like the locker room. im a frequent visitor to the site and usually keep up to date. But I found it harder with the locker room. Instead of a new topic titled 'Brad Green injured', I would have to trawl through a heap of old posts on the 'Brad Green' thread to find any decent info.

As with anything, some people will be in one camp and some will be in the other.

I was never a fan of the concept.

However, we gave the idea a shot and got to see how it panned out over some of the off-season and half a season of footy.

Really?? So everytime someone wants to start a thread you expect them to find out if someone else has had the same thoughts previously? What expiry date do you put on the validity of a thread? 3 months? 6 months? 5 years?

Good luck with that.

Always enjoy the irony of posters who complain about threads getting started, but feel the need to post ad nauseum in every thread, only rarely offering anything of substance.

I tend to agree, which is probably part of the reason why I was never a fan of the mega-thread nature of the LR. I've seen how this looks on Punt Road End when it goes on for years and it's awful. Once the topic goes stale and people stop posting in I'm okay with that topic being done and dusted.

I only object when people start a new thread when there's a recent and obvious one they could use, and that's when they get "moderated".

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
