Putting the reality bus aside for a minute, what do we want from the rest of 2012?

What would I prefer?

I would prefer to go on a 15 game winning streak and win the flag but that is not 'putting aside the reality bus' - that is smoking the magic dream reefer.

This is a useless poll designed to prove a point and PRB, I like what you give, but you can have this poll back.

I am going to continue hoping for wins, analysing the games, and speculating on what might be in October and November.

I am THAT talented...

Interesting that your middle road, reality bus position is the least popular.

Why wouldn't it be?

It's the least enticing proposition.

One is a possible finals spot, the other is two garaunteed stars and Viney in the second round.

Reality (which is hardly a 'position') is more losses and possible use of a very good pick on a F/S prospect.

I would hope anyone silly enough to answer this poll doesn't select the reality 'position.'

High draft picks haven't worked - debate the reasons elsewhere: poor picks, poor development, poor culture, poor leadership on and off field?

What we need is to regain a winning culture -- and the best way to do that is to start winning, aiming to win every game by as big a margin as possible. Play 100 per cent for 100 minutes, or as Barassi says 6000 seconds. No respite for our players nor their opponents.

In recent time we seem to have had more luck with higher draft picks than lower, that's what tanking has got us.

Win. Every game we can.

Win all 11 no doubt. As a supporter I want to see my team put in a solid 4 quarter effort every week and create a winning culture around the club, no more list management!

For God's sake we need to win as many games as we can to recover some respect.

I am sick of people at work saying they feel sorry for Melbourne.

Enough is enough I want us to be hated like Collingwood & Carlton.

Agree 100%.

I am old enough to remember the late 1950 glory years - I loved being envied and hated too.

Win everything...That is the way to gain respect in the AFL...

This club has been on the side of losing my entire life...i want to see the other side..

Aim upwards...whatever picks we get, use wisely.

That means much better than the last time.

I feel the premise of the poll is unfortunately misguided.. It supposes we alone can control the outcome. Obviously we cant.

I would suggest that even if we try the outcome might only be 3-4 games irrespetive of what we would like. just my thinking

At some point we need to start discussing how overrated high picks are. Remember they are picking teenagers who have NEVER played against men.

I want to win every game, our club has limited respect in the football world - that must be addressed.

The last rebuild got derailed by the poaching of players and poor player management......

We lost:

Scully

Aussie

Maric

There are also some players that haven't come on as quickly as we'd like.....

All were/are a part of the future plans for this club....

If it was my choice, I'd choose to start again.... Tank, get picks 1, 2, 12 and Viney......

We should also look to free agency for some older players.....eg. Goddard, Stanton, Cloke etc

If we were to finish last, we'd have psd pick 1. Which could be used to offer/poach non free agents.....eg Sidebottom, Beams, Shuey, Gold Coast players....

Finish last and hold all the cards........re-rebuild complete

Let's pick teenagers who have Played against men in the likes of the WAFL and SANFL that will surely work this.... Oh we did that already didn't we..

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
