Super soft draw for the remainder of the year

GWS x 2

GC

North

Brissy (Gabba)

Freo (Etihad)

Port (Darwin)

harder ones:

Freo (WA)

Saints

Richmond

Pies

Crows (MCG)

could end up on 10 or 11 I reckon, obviously that is based on the notion we can continue to play passionate 4 quarter efforts every week

A notion that is based on one game's evidence?

To be fair C& B said if they played 4 quarters like they did on Sat.... That being the case it's not too far fetched that they would win 4-7 of those matches.... 8 win min is a stretch though even for me.

That said.... if the unlikely occurs this week against the Pies, and with a weeks rest before taking on GWS, I suspect there will be a lot of people re-evaluating things a little quicker, as I think even you have said RPFC that things can turn around very quickly.

Given the start to the year and the obvious focus on learning new structures, I can't see us getting 10 or 11. 8 or 9 would be a more realistic result. Besides, it's all academic at this stage. This year's gone. The year is only important now as the first step in restoring the club to its rightful place as a competitive entity in the competition. If by the end of the year we have earned some respect for effort and hardness it will be a good result.

I reckon about 6 wins this year, I just want to beat GWS and North (because of what scott said)

I also would like scully to be treated in the appropriate manner (prison shanking)

Amazing that we have gone from people actually thinking we would go through the year 0 and 22 to now people hoping/demanding we go 6 and 16 at least and hoping for 10 and 12...

Crazy lot we are, hmm?

If we can solidify and make a habit of the four quarter effort, replicate it for the rest of the year and improve then maybe 8+. However, it is a huge IF at this stage.

As they say "One Swallow does not make a Spring".

Let's see how we go against the Pies this week. Was the game against Essendon the cliched 'we've had enough and will make one stand' game, or is it a sign of a more determined and united outfit going forward?

Im thinking we will beat collingwood and it is a 50/50 game

We will have 4 or 5 wins at the seasons end.

I think the club might hold Mark back just a little with the super draft coming just IMO

We have to be a real chance against the Saints if we play hard bruising footy . They are so soft harder ones:

Freo (WA)

Saints

Richmond

Pies

Crows (MCG)

Mark Stevens has us finishing with 4 wins. Presumably Gws twice and GC.

He also didn't have the Tigers finishing 9th and as we all now - this is their year!

I think we are a chance to win about 5 or 6 more.

How on earth can you say north at Etihad is easy. We haven't beaten them since 2006z

I'd argue that the nth game will be on par with playing west coast at Subi. North own us, and they know it too.

Yeah, it's similar to us over the Bombers.

Might be one to focus on...

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
