Right behind you Neeldy!!

Hope you get to read this Neeldy.

Coaching is a real tough job, dealing with media, supporters and co. The MFC unfortunatley is a mess. We as passtionate supporters/members are completley fed up with CRAP this club has dished up since 1964 in particular since 2008. All of us are sick of being bagged for supporting this club because for too long it has accepted mediocore performances. Not too mention some players seem to be enjoying this Nightclub scene a bit too much and not working hard enough on the field.

Since your appointment i and sure many other passionate supporters have being taken by your no nonsense/ hardline approach on footy. As you know most of these players havent being worked that hard in the past.

People cant expect you to put this side into the finals especially if certain players arent sticking to structures or working hard enough. This year is going to be real tough on everyone particularly yourself. We all hate it.

So this season will be a right off with plenty of pain on the field and off. But it is also a time to really evaluate who desperatley is dedicated to succeeding and who is not. If there are certain players who arent complying move them on. We have no space for passengers.

Finally i trust yourself , Neil Craig, Cam Schwab and the entire recruiting staff to chase the best players in the trade/free agencey/ draft. If that means getting Travis Cloke or a midfielder from another club do it. Plus getting 3 or 4 of the best young midfielders in the land that are ready to work hard and play footy and the acquisition of Jack Viney. Make the most of the high picks we will more than likely be gaining.

BEST OF LUCK GO DEES

Totally agree. Said much the same thing to Don McLardy at three quarter time at the game yesterday.

I also told him that I flew back from Hong Kong especially for yesterday's game. He seemed to like that, and he immediately acknowledged that it's not that easy for MFC supporters at the moment.

He also said that the club is very excited by Jack Viney. The compo picks that we got for Scully, coupled with what will obviously be a poor ladder finish this year, will land us a couple of very good players later this year.

Im a 24 year old tradesman and i have copped alot of flack from opposition supporters in my short life. I completley acknowledge that there are thousands of of passionate dees like myself that have seen many more tougher years than me.

But now we must band together as a club and keep big Jims dream well and truly alive. I am certain he is upstairs trying to help as much as he can. He always told his Reach kids to dream and go for it no matter how out there or hard it seemed GO FOR IT!!! and that is exactly what we are going to do.

Go get the cattle we need dees I BELIEVE we can do it do WHATEVER IT TAKES. LONG LIVE THE DEES!!

I want Mark Neeld to be a long term Coach. Players must adhere to his instructions or just leave. Its not as if they have produced the goods before.

AFL is top line brutal sport. So the days of hiding at the junction oval and "getting games into all the kids" is over.

It is hard work& caring.

If we search, research, probe, investigate, interview and ultimately CHOOSE/SELECT/DRAFT WISELY!

Did you read his press conference comments yesterday? He's backing away from his hardline, he's backing away from his comments about us being 'the hardest team to play against'.

The clubs going backwards and ALL parties need to be held accountable. Stop making excuses for some and not for others. You're pinning your hopes on an unproven coach. Lets have him earn our respect, just like we demand from the players.

Don't disagree, but respecting is different from backing someone when they're in a difficult situation. For the record, most of those players have had 4+ seasons it earn my respect, very few have it.

At this point backing and supporting him does a lot more for the club than burning him. He knows the score, a lot better than we do. We should at least be allowing the same amount of time we gave Bailey IMO.

As things stand now we have had burst of statements about everyone's weaknesses, A declaration of tough love "tell it as it is " and an unpicking of whatever progress had been made over the last 5 years (we did win 8.5 last year)

My version of "tell it how it is".... we are 0-8, more importantly we are playing the worst football in the league and we are on our way to a win-less season. If there is a plan I don't see it and the players don't believe it...and that is not a criticism of the players but the Club... where is the belief in the change and and strong sense of team.

"Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success." Henry Ford where do you think we are?

The guy is void of ideas and has changed us from a team of potential finalists to permanent cellar dwellars.

Potential finalists? When? Not in the last 5 years in any case, not even close. You're another of these delusional supporters, who thought that everything was rosy when we were losing by 186 to the genuine finalists, and picking up cheap wins against the likes of GC.

Neeld hasn't turned us into anything - though maybe for the first time, in pealing back the layers of BS and refusing to continue to give the players an easy ride, he's exposing the soft underbelly for all to see. And it's ugly.

But necessary.

Go read the Kennelly article, then the Misson one on the MFC site. Forget about not knowing how to play - half our team doesn't even know how to train.

So it's the players fault then....they got worse over the break ....but everything else is fine...the more I hear about how bad things were and what a terrible inheritance there was, the more it sounds like ass covering and excuses.

I don't want to see the club move to a "things were much worse than we thought but every call we've made on coach and strategy is good" position....they need a come to Jesus meeting.... pull the FD and players in and have a look at whether the path is right with the players available... one of the problems with that is that last time the club asked players for honest feedback on the FD they burnt those who came forward.

And I don't need to read from Kenelly, Roos, Carey, etc etc that things aren't working at MFC.... really

What are you trying to achieve with your incessant bagging of Mark Neeld, Retrospective? It's not clever. IMO the views you've expressed are far too convenient and simplistic.

Mark Neeld came to the Dees as an extremely highly credentialed and well regarded senior assistant coach. He would've been high on the list for the Adelaide and St Kilda gigs too, but we moved more quickly. In short, he was very respected by those in the know in the industry. And, I expect, still is.

Our list is not that good. For a start, we have far too few really good senior players, a leadership vacuum and, historically, a very weak culture. Everyone knows this.

In particular, Mark Neeld knows this. All the signs to date show that. And, for the first time in decades, we have someone who is determined to change it. Importantly, I think he has the character, the conviction and the ability to actually change it too. He is trying to introduce a professionalism to this club that it has not seen in a very long time.

Personally, I think we're bloody lucky to have him.

The facts remains that we haven't won a game yet, therefore everyone is under the microscope, something is not right, I'll back neeld in because he has only just started but I am far from convinced.

read my Post Ron..... I'm not bagging Neeld per se....but the club can't leave the disconnect between strategy and execution to go on....and I dont' think its as simple as just saying one party needs to change....

That is a very ordinary response from McLardy, it seems that he is expecting us to continue our poor form this year and finish near or on the bottom. He should in fact be a bit more upbeat when talking to supporters and suggest that we are on the right track and hopefully will turn the situation around, soon.

When the President gives the appearance that we are playing for draft picks it's not a good look.

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
