I agree with this. Despite it being a highly philispshical and moral stance, I do believe that corporations will be attracted to us if we make a stand. I may be niaive, but its just what I believe.

Same here.

Only a Mother Could Love Him

How I Lived with and Triumphed Over ADHD

By Ben Polis

An unique, engaging, funny and frank story of how a young ADHD sufferer lived with and triumphed over his condition. Ben Polis attended six different schools, served (he estimates) over 3,000 hours of detention, and drove his entire family into counselling. But against all the odds, with a combination of self-taught concentration techniques and sheer determination, he made it through the education system to university. This is his triumphant story. From his unique perspective, Ben describes what it's really like to feel those constant inexplicable impulses, to get all that medication, to desperately want to be 'normal.' Ben's inspiring, frank and often funny account will enlighten every parent who's ever despaired of their seemingly uncontrollable child; every teacher who's ever vented frustration at a student who just won't pay attention; every kid who has ever wondered 'Why does everyone hate me?' and indeed anyone who wants to understand the world of an ADHD child.

About the Author

Ben Polis self-published his book with great success in his native Australia, and now lectures internationally on ADHD. He is twenty-one.

Reviews

'Polis has caught attention with his simply written and self-deprecating descriptions of how out of control he felt as a child.' - New York Times

A self published [censored] about how wonderful he thinks he is.

The bloke is a drip.

Will the club wear the Energywatch logo on the jumpers this week? I assume they can not get new ones made in time,I wonder if they can cover it up?

Can I swap my new jumper purchased two weeks ago for one without the Energywatch logo??

I don't mind being called weak if we get a heartfelt apology and get to keep a major sponsor. That would be preferable to being called strong and lose a major sponsor and compromise our financial situation as well.

Demetriou's Latest Statement

"AFL CHIEF executive Andrew Demetriou has described as "offensive" comments made by the co-owner of Melbourne major sponsor Energy Watch.

Ben Polis, the founder and chief executive of Energy Watch, a $2 million sponsor of the Demons, has attacked Aborigines, Asians, women, Muslims and Jews on his Facebook page.

"They're offensive, they're ridiculous and you only have to see them on the front page of the Herald Sun to understand how offensively outrageous they are," Demetriou told 774 ABC Melbourne.

"It has put the Melbourne Football Club in a terribly difficult situation. They obviously know our view, as would the general community, which wouldn't tolerate those sorts of comments."

"I'm not quite sure what he (Polis) is thinking."

Melbourne may have no choice but to cut ties with its major sponsor after the Facebook comments."

So is the AFL going to Compensate Melbourne as they where the ones who First started these Rumours through Demetrious Rising Star "Jason Mifsud" Demetriou's UNTOUCHABLE!!!!

That is what has bought all of this to the attention of the Media and the current situation Melbourne finds Itself in there is no doubt in my mind that the AFL is behind this as this latest claim is to try and tar Melbourne as racist with the same Brush as Polis and thats the way the Media is portraying it !!

Which leaves Demetriou able to sit back and tell you, that see we Told you the Melbourne FootballClub was Racist Jason was right!

Melbourne should demand the resignation of Misfud and by extension Demetriou !!

Both are a Blight on the game !

Seems even Jeff Kennet has strong views on Demetrious culpability in this whole saga he said as much on 3AW this morning

The latest on 3AWS site

http://www.3aw.com.au/blogs/breaking-news-blog/demons-race-row-deepens/20120405-1wdsv.html

once again saying "The racism row engulfing the Melbourne Football Club has deepened, with revelations a major sponsor has made racist and sexist slurs online."

Melbourne has now Terminated its Contract with Energy Watch

The obvious and only move that could be made by the club, I don't care that we may lose $2 million a season it will hurt but we maintain our integrity. Talk about a rough week we've all had them in life when you think what have we done do deserve this but we move on.

Hopefully now we can let the FD & Team concentrate on footy and Schwabby & the board can chase up other sponsors

This sentence is unfortunate.

The 'middle ground' is not up to us, it is up to Polis - he is the one that has to get on the front foot to save his reputation and our relationship with him.

He doesn't seem to care from the quotes he gave to the Hun.

Unless Polis wants to save himself, we cannot save the relationship.

Whyw ould he care though? He gets to save "millions" of dollars (assuming he was ever going to front up the cash anyway) and has already gained publicity/notoriety out of the relationship (he seems to be the type of moron who thinks any publicity is good publicity going by his comments).

For those arguing "pragmatism" (Lordweaver et al) how can you seriously suggest keeping this guy on after the disgusting comments he made not just in general but about one of our very own players. How do you think Jurrah (in particular), Davey, Bennell, Jetta & Lawrence would feel if we fronted the players and said "we're keeping him on because we need the money". Won't happen.

We must ditch them, no question. Interesting ( and surpirising supportive) comments by Eddie on MMM today. Clearly, there are some contractual commitments to be worked through before you can simply ditch an agreement. His supportive suggestions about media & AFL assisting with the search for a new sponsor, and what could be brought to the table in support, were, i believe, generous & constructive.

A week to put behind us ..

So one minute he threatens to steal our sponsors (what sponsors? Hahaha) and the next he is offering his charity? F&%^ off Eddie.

Anyone who thinks this is a bad business decision has no idea what damage a fool like this will continue to do to the MFC brand. Every time he makes another disgusting statement it will be all over the media.

By the way, If any publicity is good publicity then the MFC should expect to get 200,000 members this year!

EW in voluntary admin, if they go in to liquidation , mfc could have a problem . If liquidators find coy trading while insolvent, they may look for preferred payments to creditors to see if theycan get money repaid, if coy paid mfc money in last 6 months instead of another creditor thats called a preferred creditor( simple explanation , if an accountant wants to expand please do so)

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
