The ball ended up in his hands forward of centre, he had options everywhere and just didn't know what to do, he tried to play on and was comicly run down from behind.

Look, he's a talent, but...

But... he's a ruckman. They're a special breed the big fella's.

It has most certainly not been put to bed. This is a NAB Cup game. Say what you will about their side on paper, in their minds it's inconsequential.

That 'hoodoo' will be put to bed if and when we take 4 premiership points from a game there.

Some people are just too hard to please. A win in any form of the game and at any time of the year at Etihad is going to do their confidence an enormous amount of good, let alone a win against a team containing a good number of GF players from last year.

He may make comical mistakes, but he's not just a talent, he's an integral part of our side, and his pros outweigh his cons.

Yes, he does make comical mistakes indeed.

I think his best decision is either deep forward or back, basically in a position where all he has to do is run directly at the ball and not worry about the periphals. His goals tonight show his worth, and his size and mobility are rare but as someone said recently, he's going to accidently kick 5 goals at some stage.

To be fair, we beat about the only team that plays there less often than we do. Still, it's a nice one to have on the board.

I have only caught the last 10 minutes or so of the game, will watch replay later but it just looked as though they were in a constant state of panic.

No cool heads to just get the ball, stop, look then make a decision, Martin and Macdonald being the main offenders.

Where did I say I wasn't pleased? I am pleased. Winning > losing, obviously. But let's keep things in perspective, all we did was win a NAB Cup game.

I think this is really under-selling Martin's talent, but then again, you've seen him play this year and I haven't.

Looks like after one pre season under Neeld and Co we are finally on the way to mastering the press. Thats making the jump from the Dean Bailey 2007 era game plan to 2012 era game plan. Intensity also good.

Magner deserves special mention

14 contested possessions out of 21

Plus 7 tackles, very good effort.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
