Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

I will be there around 9.45am. There's no hope that it will be closed and James Sellar has said he will be there at his first training session. I expect all draftees will be in attendance.

As DD has announced, the MFC website says:

Training Times

The next open training session is:

Gosch's Paddock - Monday 28th November - 9:45am

(Corner of Swan Street and Olympic Boulevard)

All draftees should be there, let's get down there and spur them all on.

Demon Disciple can you write a report out for other Demonlanders please?

Just returned from training where it was brisk but steady as the last few weeks has been. All draftees trained although Taggart was very brief. A couple I did not spot at all at training was Bail & Cook.

We had some extras training today-I was told these 5 were our permission to train lot- 1 stood out to me- Fletcher Roberts.I await others to report for you.

Dropped in for a little while, I will let others give a full report. From the time I was there this pre-season will either make or break Blease and Gysberts. Through the running and the drills these two cop the most, the coaches are pushing them hard.

The other that is working his backside of coming back from injury is Evans, he worked with two coaches and they worked him hard.

Don't know why, but I really like this. By all reports these two have been the biggest strugglers fitness wise - I guess where it'll be interesting is how this pre-season caning affects their seasons on the field given how they both tailed off last season, and how their pre-seasons look next year by comparison.

Ahh November: the month when you could tell me pretty much anything the club is doing and I'd think it was great.

True but all im thinking about is Gysberts getting about 25 on debut as an unfit 19yo, now he will be playing FIT as a 21yp, can only spell good things imo, similar story for Blease

Freddie Clutterbuck?

On that name alone, he will not get anywhere in professional sports...

Really sorry kid.

Steele Sidebottom broke the glass ceiling but Freddie Clutterbuck is a bridge too far...

There's a professional NHL player by the name of Cal Clutterbuck. I definitely don't think there's room for two Clutterbucks in pro sports, that's for sure. Otherwise we'd be cluttered with Clutterbucks.

Often makes me wonder how on earth surnames first originate.

His family was known for hoarding large amounts of male deer.

Got back from training today surprised. I was surprised at the work rate and the amount of work done in the 2 and a half hours they were out there.

I was sitting on the park bench on the far side of the oval for anyone interested. The boys started with some stretching then went into some light running and then they split. The main group did what looked like repeat 400m sprints, very tough, while the rehab group did ball handling drills, quick handballing and short kicking.

The rehab group then split and Ricky Petterd and Neville Jetta did 20m sprints being timed by one of the assistants, nice bloke as well, Petterd kept getting 3.9's and Jetta gradually building to PB of 3.8. Bail was running up and down where the pair were sprinting. James Strauss and Rohan Bail did laps, whilst Liam Jurrah did 1/2 pace laps with a trainer again and somehow looked dead after. He and Jack Grimes had a small kick to kick afterwards.

Michael Evans did solitary work today, mainly turning then kicking and pushing off oponnents for space, leading and marking. His kicking is below par by a mile, missed many targets on preferred foot too.

On the far side of the ground the main group were doing something else, someone else can fill you in on it. Strauss looks good btw, running freely but his laps were slow pace. Aaron Davey and Mitch Clark then joined the main group for what seemed like set play and transition scenarios. A very weak form of a press was formed, still needs a lot of work, plenty of time to do so which is good. The main group was split up and put into 2 teams. One of the training add ons was always getting the ball, can't remember the name.

Josh Tynan has good positioning but poor, very poor kicking skills, misses lot of targets and his kicks have little power on them, needs to change his ball drop. It looked like they did three set plays and then went off into their groups. Forwards, mids and rucks combined for a stoppage drill where the mids broke and streamed into the 50. Tom Couch looks like a clearance specialist, kept getting the ball from the bottom of the packs.

And that was that, a warm down stretch and off they went.

Players who were absent or did very little, Mckenzie, Bartram, Morton, Cook, Tapscott, Jamar, Jurrah, Grimes, Bail, any others??

On a side note I think that this year we will definitely be fit but it will be a question of how well we can stick to a gameplan. A lot of people's skills were below par yet understandable.

Lastly, one thing that really disappointed me was Sam Blease's attitude. Petterd on the sidelines told him to give it a crack because in the transition drill he was lazy on the lead and was at less than half pace, then in later drills had his head down. Disappointing, needs to change this.

And that was pretty much it. Any questions I'm willing to answer

I believe it originates from the old Saxon "Clusterbuck" when many families would be housed in a single dwelling.

One of the first changes was when the "f" was written as "b" in the Doomsday book.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
