Tim Harrington was on SEN and said that Maric had requested a trade to North.

He went on to say North are easy to deal with and expects the deal to be done.

Question is what have they got that we would want and what would they give up?

they have picks 18, 40, 58, 76, 94 in the draft. Can't see them giving up pick 18.

I am thinking we will end up with pick 40 plus a player like Ben Warren.(which does not excite me)

I would't mind a swap for Matt Campbell and one of our later picks we need a small forward who can apply pressure.

He is no world beater but neither is Maric and offers more pace than Maric

is he contracted just out of interest? if not then he can simply walk and they will pick him up in the PSD! - 3rd round seems like we are getting shafted what did we select him at again?

Doesn't matter now where he was drafted. It was a very poor draft pick at the time, and seen by most as a strange pick. He is a list clogger, and will be delisted if not traded, so if we get something it is a bonus.

i actually think he has talent not that it matters now but he has a booming 50m kick and the thing that has been keeping him out of the team is his motor and workrate which could both be fixed under a Neeld/Misson new regime. Bailey always struggled to get our players up and running and thats what it is sounding like we will be getting better at from now on with Misson/Craig/Neeld operating.

There's no way he is on the verge of being delisted, he is more important to hold onto than say Warnock for example who will just never cut it in our best side. There was still hope Maric could i think anyway.

Im also thinking third round pick but maybe also an upgrade, like we give them our third round and we get their second round in return. I cant see us aquiring another player given we already seem to be struggling to delist the minimum number of players.

Was he pick 21? Not sure, but i think it was something like that?

Yep taken at pick 21. Was supposedly the most accurate kick statistacly in the U/18's ever.

I had high hopes he could turn into our Alan Didak . some players taken after him - Tate Pears, Tom Collier, levi greenwood, brendan whitecross, scott selwood, chris mayne ,scott Thompson (North melbourne).

There's absolutely no point in ruing what came after.

Old I think your onto something. I expect we will just swap picks to improve out draft position.

If North are moving on Matt Campbell, it will be interesting to see what they get for him. Could be that pick, otherwise the Maric + 54 for pick 40 upgrade seems reasonable.

Swap for Urquhart.

Both pick 21.

21 seems to be the magic number - pick 21, played 21 senior games and 21 years old.

If McLean was worthy of pick 11 a couple years back in a very strong draft then I don't see why this trade would be zero chance in this year's weak draft?

Ah yes, but that decision by Carlton was a major brainfart.

Let's hope we get this done tomorrow. It'd be more than nice to head into Monday knowing where we're placed pick-wise given we've got other deals to make which will probably also affect our draft position. I like old's suggestion of Maric + 54 for 40 - that'd be my preferred option. Other than that, North's pick 58 would be the other realistic option.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
