MOTY:Andrew Krakouer WTF????

I don't like Walker's mark. Nice jump but it was one on one. It was almost like a schoolyard setup. I think Krakouer's was an ok choice.

I reckon your right brendan. For me it was between Ricky or Walker. But I think we all know why Krakouer won it now, don't we??

I'll need you to enlighten me mate.

Completely agree. Not even in the top 3 for mine, Nic Nat's, Walker's and Petterd's all better.

Collingwood player, fairytale comeback, public vote with the biggest supported club in the league. Need I go on?

These things are always debatable. I thought it was pretty good grab.

You need to build a bridge to get over the filth's supposed fortune in these things. We're better than that cobber.

Funny that. I've just been poking around twitter and came across a tweet by Marty Pask, retweeted by Damian Barrett saying that the AFL loving public voted Walkers as the best, but the AFL themselves overruled it. This disproves one of my reasons, but doesn't go much distance at all to disproving the others. Unfortunately the Filth do seem to have a bit of extra fortune with these sorts of things, just calling it as I see it.

Well if that is true it's very disappointing but given the AFL's form of late, not surprising.

Black and white@&$?!

Krakouer's mark is a beauty, but the thing about Walker's is the hang time. Staying up there is rally hard to do, and Walker was up there for a long time. for mine, Krakouer was about 5th or 6th.

For what it's worth, Luke Darcy spoke about this on 'One Week at a Time' last night. He was one of the selectors of MOTY so his views are worth something. he explained that while it was a difficult decision, the key determinant that got Krakour's over the line was that it was a pack mark rather than one on one like Walker's.

Do I agree? No. I'd have gone with Walker - but at least Darcy explained the reasoning.

absolute [censored] that he was awarded mark of the year.

Being totally unbiased, Walker's speccie was one for the ages, was night and day ahead of any other this year, then came NICNATS, then daylight to Petterd, then even more daylight to Krakouer's.

Walker was robbed. His would have to be one of the highest grabs to be ever taken. Such a clean jump, such a clean grab and he was up near the top of Eureka Tower to boot.

Agree with the goal of the year though. Fantastic run and carry down the entire field from ballantyne.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
