If what is written in the Age today is true CS should just zip it up. Don't start knifeing people in the back because what goes around comes around. From one that is hanging by a thread it is not the time to be shoreing up support or maybe that is what you have been doing all along. Lets not be in the papers for our internal problems. Don't exascerbate the situation by blabbing to whom you may think are friendly because we have no friends out there. The Club has to close ranks at the moment and let Garry do his job and get it sorted. Closing ranks means getting rid of anyone who is leaking information and feeding the sharks out there.

I don't think CS was the one that 'blabbed' if this is indeed the case.

The club is leaking like a sieve at the moment.

This is where I should be giving you a "scathing attack" ... but that will get either of us no where.

CS is just doing what he feels is best for the club ... give the bloke a break. You want passion, you want commitment we have it in spades with CS.

The Only "leaking information and feeding the sharks out there." are people who want to undermine our CEO. The very CEO who has assisted in bring us back from certain death. Look for the positives

1/ Our New facilities

2/ Our Debt Situation

3/ Our positive accumulation of more assets

4/ Our excellent media coverage ... they do say any publicity is better than no publicity

5/ We are on the brink of signing a record "sponsorship" deal

6/ White board Wednesday ... direct attempt to communicate with the "rank & file"

7/ 30+% growth in memberships

Geez give the bloke a break

Ask yourself why The Age chose to publish that particular picture of CS. Then ask yourself what kind of 'reality' Caroline wishes to paint. Consider the after-effect of someone like Sam Newman displaying a similiarly un-complimentary photo of Caroline on TFS... Seeing is not always believing!

With all due respect thats what the media would have you believe ... but its never as bad as it appears.

No doubt about it "we" are having a very ROBUST debate at present ... but look on the positive side, maybe this is the very thing we needed to help us take the next step & STAY there.

Last thing you want in any football club is "lame duck" departments irrespective of which department that is ... you lose balance. Maybe we just need to get the synchronisation back ... it can & will be done.

Caro has her own "little" motivations ... yes she wants to deliver the "news" but its not ALWAYS the "news" many times it her opinion made to appear like the news.

I very much like your way of viewing this hangon. The 'dark before the dawn' that we had to have!! ...... and I'm definitely not being patronising. You can be a wise old monkey sometimes.

My link

The first paragraph in the story makes an unsubstantiated claim. There is no supporting argument, no evidence given and no link to the claim in any of the subsequent matters discussed in the article. Very poor journalism.

Nothing to see here.

That article says nothing...Caro and the "Age" have an agenda against Schwab. Everyone has to lay down their cards and let it all out.

Away from the media.

Gossip girl!

Normally a fan of Wilson but this was a very poor article.

She does seem a bit schizzo at times. Theres either the wel informed balanced Caro..or the rumour , muck raking vindictive cow.

Take the meds wilson !!

They're trying to create a new species to keep the sports pages full.

We no longer have only the dead-coach-walking, we'll soon have it's brother, the dead-CEO-walking.

The move away from single point responsibility has taken a while to grow on the media, because they liked being able to lump all the blame on a coach then let it become a self-fulfilling prophecy, but now they're realising it's much more fun to sling accusations at all corners of the club.

So many wild rumours that no one can keep up, and spurious accusations can be made and lost in the shuffle.

They can get a lot more mileage out of it.

I agree 100% e25 I have read this story a dozen times and for the life of me I cannot see anything in it.

And the photo is a disgrace.

Next we will have him scratching his bum while picking up the morning paper off the lawn.

And they wonder why people get upset with the media!

Of course, it works for us too.

We wouldn't be looking at the prospect of such a hefty sponsorship deal, if we didn't receive so much media coverage on this and the Scully issue.

I also think being based at AAMI Park makes a big, oft-ignored difference.

Thank-you ... I can tell you for a FACT their are some teams in the AFL absolutely $hitting themselves about us.

They will do their BEST to de-stabilise us at every opportunity. Whether it be our board, CEO, Footy Department or players.

To a very small extent so are the AFL ... you see the optimum structure for the AFL is too have every team to win 1 premiership every 18 years. However, with our current relationship with the MCG our current financial position on the improve, our current facilities on the improve, arguable one of the best young list in the league ... the last thing they want is a return to the 1960's. It nearly sent the competition bust. Some memories fade hard.

It's easy for the press to get down there, and they're at Collingwood's base 100m away most of the time anyway.

Drop in to see one, see the other.

Don't underestimate the laziness of journos.

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
