It's strangely comforting reading this thread. At least when you do you realize how many people out there feel your disappointment.

Can I make a prediction though?

An absolute roasting in the media, followed by a much improved performance – probably a narrow loss, maybe even a win – next week against the Blues. Seriously. For a couple of years now the only thing that fires our playing group up is bottoming out and then getting lashed by the media.

PS Bailey has to go.

The softness is unimaginable.

If the club wants 15k members next year, they better announce a change of coach and football department on Monday. Not that i think that can even save this club, but it will at least give hope to some supporters.

The administration sold the rebuild to us, and it was the last roll for a lot of long suffering supporters. It has failed. I fear for this club. The culture of failure beat everyone.

What, we should start a new rebuild then?

I'm disappointed, disgusted and repulsed myself. But in two years time this will be nothing more than a blip on the radar. I don't think the rebuild has failed- it's barely started.

Embarrassing.

I don't care that it's Geelong in Geelong, to concede 20 goals in one half of football is pathetic. No team should ever concede that many goals.

Our youth/inexperience/whatever is no excuse for a performance this inept.

What's the bet we come under immense scrutiny this week, and then put in a half-decent performance against Carlton, thereby removing from people's minds how bad we are right now?

All i will say about today's performance so far, is that it goes way deeper than just the Coach.

If you want Bailey gone, then Brad Green has to also cease as Captain after today.

NEW START...

Absolutely agree we need assistants that know what they are dong.

MFC is a joke right now. Would love to see JMac in a assistant coaching role next year. Could we entice G Lyon?

Stop talking of Garry Lyon, he has been out of the game since 1998...it won't happen.

For months now i have been saying that our players are no where as good as we think.

For months I have been told I do not know what i am talking about.

"We have a talented group" "who only need time"

I am constantly told.

Well guys what is the line tonight?

We have A football department that after four years has us producing what may be the worst performance

In the clubs history.

The has beens we threw out did not play this badly

at least they gave their best.

Unfortunately we have to start again.

I am too old for this but what is the alternative!

Sorry DB but after 4 years you have taken us backwards.

Do the honourable thing and resign tonight.

And CC it is time for the same mate.

Well said. Sad thing is i dont think the club will survive another rebuild.

Id be happy to see all the over 23s go at the end of the year. They have contributed to the rotting of this club as much as the coaches.

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

2024 Player Reviews: #35 Harry Petty

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. 2024 Player Reviews: #22 Blake Howes

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. One to watch in 2024. Date of Birth: 7 March 2003 Height: 191cm Games MFC 2024: 15 Career Total:  15 Goals MFC 2024: 0 Career Total:  0 Games CDFC 2024: 6 Goals CDFC 2024: 0

2024 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. 2024 Player Reviews: #40 Taj Woewodin

The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress. The clever small was unable to cement a place in the Melbourne midfield and spent most of his time this year with the Casey Demons where he finished equal fourth in its best & fairest.
