I doubt it Earl the LNP would have nothing to do with those commos and they will not hear of us importing bananas.

I suspect that Comrade Earl would deal with anyone. Indeed in my experience, Commos are an honourable lot compared to their capitalist counterparts.

Earl's behaviour has the touch of Milo Minderbender. Our very own Milo on this site. I am looking forward to hearing of further outrageous trades involving Earl or Milo.

Sorry Old Dee I missed your reference to the LNP. Also look out for Cory Bernardi and his conservative revolution!

The other point to make is that Cuban bananas bend the other way, to the left, rather than to the right as you are looking at them. Not sure if this will pose a marketing problem or not?

Must be that the Cuban girls roll them on their left thigh rather than their right, Earl?  Funny that the Cuban cigars don't give an indication of which thigh they were rolled on?

Anyway, maybe it also proves that our banana bending Qld friends favoured the right all along with their Aussie bananas. Must go all the way back to Bjelke's days.

Oh and Earl, how goes the search for fair trade coffee in Cuba?  Any good 'brews' found that you could do a little importing of?  You know, sewn into the door upholstery of the Roller when you bring it back into Oz?

bj the way you describe it I may take up smoking again!

Sorry to throw footy in here, but I was thinking that a good year for us, will put us in a strong position to grab a FA or two next year, so that we don't have to rely too heavily on the draft, with our fairly young list.

If we have a good year then FAs will go bananas? And be all over us like monkeys up a chocolate-covered banana tree? And they will kick lots of goals with bananas? And this thread will go even more bananas? And if we make the finals I will plant a banana tree in my backyard?

Is that enough? :lol::)

Think you nailed it.

I assume you would be watching your banana trees grow, while lying on your banana lounge in the backyard.

I think you're right Redleg. We'll become an attractive proposition and dare I say it, a destination club for a couple of players.

How did this quote come to be allowed here. I just read about Cuban girls' thighs which piqued my interest then someone had to drag football into it. Back to google for me !!!

OD I suspect you are correct my Cuban banana deal is in tatters. I have been double crossed somewhere at the highest levels. I am currently licking my wounds in Cancun after being whisked out of Havana last night by my brother in law one step ahead of the local police chief. You may remember my brother in law sells vacuum cleaners in Havana, well the whole time I was there I never saw him sell one; I suspect he was so frustrated he started drawing pictures of vacuum cleaners as a side line I suppose to earn some pesos. I quite liked his sketches actually and remember showing them to a few of the regulars at the Wonder Bar where I would have my regular afternoon banana daiquiri. They were very interested in them so he had potential clients no doubt about it but when I mentioned this he went ballistic! Next thing I know we are all off to the airport to catch the first plane out?

To add insult to injury I had my stash of real Cuban coffee, the Inner Party coffee confiscated by the communists at the airport customs. So I have nothing to show for my trade deals except a few kilos of guava paste!

I suspect there will be no Cuban bananas in OZ anytime soon.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
