Clarkson will consider leaving Hawks

Not saying that Dean Bailey is out of the running (although last night's debacle surely put a massive dent in his case), but we would be negligent if we didn't add Clarkson to our list of possibles if he's available.

Has turned the Hawks into a feared, ultra-competitive outfit, won a flag and approved the recruiting of the right type of players to execute his pioneering and successful game plans.

Got a nasty streak in him, too.

I hope the club has spoken to or is planing to speak with Liam Pickering about Clarkson, I think he would be good for the Dees. Like him or not Bailey is in big trouble average losing margin 51 points, Hawks, Cats ( Skilled Stadium ) and Blues coming up.

It is at this point that I will say that we will contact him during the season if he stays out of contract, and Bailey doesn't need to be sacked mid-season for us to do it.

All the coaches I would like to see can wait until October without much trouble.

There's no way in the whole wide world that:

1. Malthouse would come to Melbourne

2. Melbourne can afford Malthouse

I heard Dean on Dribble M before and he MAKES sense, he knows the game, but whose fault is the execution? Our senior players.

1. Melbourne's young list would be a dream to coach.

2. We are the Melbourne Football Club. Not Greece National Football Team. We do actually have money we can spend on a coach you know?

I'm not offay with Melb's revenues, but they have never been an affluent club.

Gotta spend money to make money at certain times.

To become an affluent club at some stage the MFC must take that calculated risk. It could be this summer.

True - but where do they get it from?

If this club has the ability to clear it's debts in around 2 years, i do not see a problem in being able to pay top coin for coaching staff.

Carlscum are still $ 7 million in debt and i don't see them aiming for anything but the top.

Agreed, anything to Eradicate this soft outside style football from our club that has persisted for mostpart of 35 Years.

Clarkson teams have the tanacity and a bit of Mongrel that would make the northern stands hair bristle on it's end. :) Lucky Bert Newtons not a fan, his would get up and scurry off for cover.

Clarkson should be in the mix next year...so should Bailey and Malthouse.

I will say one thing for Bails..He sticks to his guns, so he may still be looking way into the future.

Is he using a crystal ball?

Might pay to start worrying about 2011

Or his Crystal ball might need to show his next job.

Melbourne were a powerhouse for a long time and were wealthy when they had the might of the MCC behind them.

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
