As a Melbourne supporter I was disappointed to hear the boos and jeers directed a Brad Miller today from some of the Melbourne fraternity. It wasn't his choice to leave the MFC and good on him for getting the opportunity to continue his AFL career. I wish him luck in the future.

Disgraceful. He gave us his all when he was with us in trying times. That his all wasn't quite good enough is no fault of his and I'm glad Richmond gave him another chance.

Brad always put in when he was a Demon. Poor form from the booing minority. Good luck Brad.

I think any booing was done by a very small minority.

I followed his game today, and heard no booing, but just a few bronx cheers when he fluffed it (a few times)!!!

I for one hope when he finishes his career he'll come back to us and provide some sort of a role I think he will

offer a lot coaching wise.

Just rubbing the hands for some father/son action imagine the possibilities

Best of luck Brad I met and had a chat to you after an intra club down at Casey and you will never meet a better bloke.

Had plenty of time for kids and autographs as well.

all the best.

I heard them too, and it was disappointing, but it always seems to happen. Every time an ex-player turns up the morons boo him. I would only expect that kind of behaviour from the crowd if a player not only chose to leave us, but bagged us as he went. Then it would be fair enough for people to express their displeasure. But people have tiny minds and choose to behave negatively whenever they have a choice. Unfortunately, our supporters are no different from anyone else.

I didn't hear any booing, a bit of a jeer when he missed a goal at the city end, but no more than any other player gets. I've actually enjoyed watching Brad play at Richmond this year, considering he was over with us. Have met him a few times and as most who have, can endorse the comments he is a top bloke.

Didnt notice anything on Foxtel.... I think it comes down to the fact that many (at every club) feel its the norm these days to boo former players regardless of whether their departure was amicable or controversial. It's unfortunate if Red n Blue boys behaved this way, but as I said, on the telly it appeared he coped nothing more than anyone else in a Tiger strip.

Posted

...should add that the only reason my comments stem from a pay-tv vantage is because I'm not in Melbourne. Would have loved to have been there today. Dees were great to watch.

Posted

I too didn't notice it on the box, but if true then the people doing it need to hang their heads in shame. Miller served us well, and always tried his guts out. He was a great ambassador for the club and a nice bloke to boot. And anyone questioning his loyalty needs to remember him turning down a chance to play an AFL game so that he could play with the scorps in the finals. Selfless effort. We were the ones who let him go, so pull ur heads in and give a good bloke, and good servant a break.

Posted

I think it's just a case of "he's the enemy now" mentality. Doubt anyone has anything against Brad personally.

I didn't boo him btw... but jeered when he missed that kick in the 3rd. I actually think he's been playing pretty well this year for the Toigs.

I only boo Scott Thompson and the Wizz. Loved him... Hated him.

Miller was hopeless today, we should've all been cheering.

Loved the dropped mark when they were building momentum, and the turnover.

I didn't boo him, but couldn't care less who did. I'm just glad we're not wasting time and positions with stupid stop-gap pick ups like Brad Miller.

Look at the experience Watts and Howe are getting, Miller is just delaying that sort of development for a Richmond kid, for that I'm grateful.

I did not boo him, but did laugh almost every time he had the pill, ribbing the richmond supporter beside me. Glad he's not taking games from youngings at the dees. Lovely guy though.

I heard some boos. Didn't boo him myself, but did have a good old cheer at his expense a few times.

Didn't hear a single boo myself.

I think there's been a misunderstanding, the boos were for Tom Scully, not Miller.

Hope I've cleared that up and we can get on with being Melbourne supporters.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
