Would assume it's Jurrah's turn to be the sub.

The future has almost taken control of this team. Sometimes injuries aren't such a bad thing

Liam to be super sub

Talented exciting young team on paper, but we are in for another belting . Let's hope we let the shackles go a bit more this week

Posted (edited)

Isn't it great to see this young team up and ready to have a go!! Can't wait to see how they gel together. There could be some out-of-position, some being-bumped-off-the-ball easily, and some tired legs late in the 3rd quarter but we get to see our list on display, and hopefully they can take the game on.

And please, Dean Bailey, do NOT start the game with a spare man in defence, and play Watts in the forward half of the ground.

Jurrah for the sub - I hope. This could be a wake up call for him PLUS he could wreak havoc with fresh legs in the last quarter.

I really want to see Strauss get a chance to show his foot skill.

I really want to see Howe play his naturally attacking game.

I really want to see Gawn making life difficult for Ryder and Bellchambers.

I get to see Scully running again.

And Trenners returns with his skill nad poise.

I feel like Big Kev. I'm excited!!

Lets hope not. What I really want to see is Strauss, Morton, Bennell all lift their intensity at the hard ball. No room for footsteps this week.

How the hell is Bennell still in the side!

yeah i would actually like to see Maric ahead of him, just doesnt do enough, lovely to watch but only see him a couple times a game

We've made more changes than I expected, given we were already so inexperienced. It's nice to see Trengove and Scully back though, and seeing debutants is always interesting.

However, I reckon we're missing ~11 best-22 players. The good thing is that of those who I don't think are best-22, all bar one are young players who could plausibly push their way into contention.

I also like the fact that Blease is an emergency, as I think he's the type of player that could be very damaging.

There's no way LR will be the Sub...A extra forward is needed on the bench... And Scully will be the one subbed off for one of the other three boys.

west coast....wtf ???

Four debutants in 3 weeks! Good grief, they'll all need to start wearing name tags to get to know each other.

Agree, but with Warnock out I'd assume Watts will play a Maxwell type loose defender role, and Frawley and Rivers will take Hille/Ryder/Bellchambers.

Happy enough with the ins. This season has turned into another 'development' year so might as well go all all with the debutants. Only suprise is to see so many young guys given a shot after all the talk about bruise free footy.

Posted

Wow.. Really really small backline.. If Hille and Ryder are both in there we could be in trouble. Watts obviously doesn't count as he wont be playing on either of those two. I like the look of the ins, but Maric and Warnock should not have been dropped.

4 in 2 weeks plus 2 potential first gamers as emergency!

We could chalk up quite a few first year players by the end of the season.

In fact we have 5 players in the team tomorrow who have played 2 games or less! Thats almost a quarter of the team!

surely jurrah wouldn't be the sub, can produce anything on any night, it would just be a waste of opportunity, gotta give it to evans/jetta

imagine the roar tomorrow night when scully gets the ball

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
