Honestly, we have the best shot at the Filth...although that's at full strength. With our injuries, I'd say the Blues.

We don't match up well against the Bombers at all.

And after you've answered this question, the next question is:

Which of the following am I most likely to pick up when I go out on Saturday night?

1) Megan Fox

2) Miranda Kerr

3) Jennifer Hawkins?

Remember, you're not allowed to answer "none of them".

Megan Fox, assuming she's the 62 year old one from Scoresby.

You have to have had respect to "regain" it...

Excellent point Stuie. Sadly

And Nasher....i would've preferred Megan Gale in there for Jen Hawkins. A bit to "up there somewhere looking down" for my liking Jen. Any chance you can add Megan please!?

With several family and friends being ardent supporters of our next two opponents, here's what I can offer from having watched most of their games this year and several last year, and been involved in a lot of conversation about them.

- Carlton without Judd and/or Warnock would be a different proposition to full strength Carlton. Despite the fact that their depth has improved, and the very good performances from Murphy this year, Judd is still their best player by an astonishing margin. Don't doubt it for a moment, Carlton have three wins this season which were driven by the impossible influence of Judd at critical times. If he is at full fitness, we can probably just accept that one is just about demonstrating intensity and not embarassing ourselves. If he isn't making a full contribution we can match their advantage in the midfield drops away considerably. No/unfit Warnock takes it down another notch. It would still take a top effort, but it isn't impossible.

Bombers are genuinely shaky - the immense effort which has made them so strong for the early part of the season was clearly taking its toll, mentally and physically. How they react to the bye will shape their season. Over time their game plan has degenerated into ultra-predictable straight-line stuff, which equals pick-off party time for Jared Rivers. I rate that game 50/50 with Watson and Hurley out. Possibly their two most structurally important players, with all respect to Fletcher. If we turn up to that one with one of our 'better intensity' efforts, we'll get 'em.

Collingwood, nah, that'd be ridiculous wouldn't it? :)

I'd say all 3, before waking in a warm sweat.

Is that Jack Watts?

no, Jack Watts played an excellent game on Saturday and at no stage recently has he showed any sign of being the soft player some say he is. With his brains, cleanliness/skill, athleticism and versatility looks highly probable to become an excellent player.

but the blubbering little babies in this thread didn't notice that because we didn't win the game

As you are a recently reformed blathering baby - why do you think that is?

If you lose, there is no positive. Far too simple a view.

You can actually build a case for all three.

Most teams have struggled after the bye, so Essendon might be there for the taking, especially if Watson and Hurley are still out.

If Judd is missing for Carlton it will help Melbournes cause.

As badly as Melbourne seem to match up against Essendon, the Dees go extremly well against the Pies. Collingwood looked disinterested at times yesterday and are far from unstoppable.

I agree that if you have struggled against the likes of North Melbourne and St kilda in recent weeks, winning any of your next 3 are unlikely, but football always throws up some upsets along the way.

It might seem it, but it wasn't that long ago that you beat Adelaide by 96 points. A return to the MCG might be the tonic.

I am absolutely positive we will beat the Bombers. They are massive pretenders and will not make the 8. There, said it.

Thats recorded in my diary Choko!

I reckon Megan Fox. Americans birds love aussie accents.

Knowing my luck it would be Dougie Hawkins sister!

There is more chance that I will offer to work free to my boss for the remainder of my career than Melbourne winning any of these games. It's going to get ugly.

I have to agree.

At least that's something... with my luck it would be Dougie himself in drag.

Of the three games, the only one I can see us having a real crack at would be the QB clash... and that is only if Scully and Jamar were to be back on the track. This however is highly unlikely as Scully will no doubt need a stint at Casey (assuming he really does have just 2 weeks on the injury list) to regain match fitness as will Jamar who would need to return at the more optimistic end of his 3 to 5 week estimate, if he were to even play at Casey.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
