your sarcasm detector is due for a service

No, it's working perfectly.

But he's sarcastically implying that to make that sort of statement you'd need to have seen all of his games at Casey, but it's obvious he hasn't.

I'm saying that the only logic for making such a statement is if you were completely unaware of his form at Casey and were making wild assumptions.

If you had have seen his form at Casey, you still couldn't make that claim, because you'd know better.

Pretty much the same destination, but a slightly different route.

Gysberts & Aussie are in starting 18. Morton Warnock & Strauss make up the 25 (emergencies).

Meaningless minutiae, but Grimes has been named in the centre.

That's sure to make a few people happy, albeit only temporarily.

Hard call to say who will be dropped from the senior side.

I'd like to see Watts dropped for a game or 2, then back in.

I just think the short confidence boost from a few games at Casey would help him at this stage.

I don't see Warnock coming in, and I'd like Morton to gain some touch first.

I know he's not really a mature body, but I'd like to see Strauss included.

nathan2jones Great to have Aussie back & Jordie Gys in!! Both in super form! & worked super hard to get their chance. Stoked for em!!

Shame about the 2 years prior

Morton (4), Grimes (14), Maric(21), Watts(1), Blease(17), Strauss(19)

not looking hugely successful at this point in time

Re you serious?

Re you serious?

Cant say any of them except Grimes and perhaps Morton have shown much yet. Too early to call whether they are good or bad picks yet.

As opposed to Flash? They showed footage of him last night on AFL Teams when Burgoyne kicked a goal in "that" quarter. There was a 50/50 ball for him to win, and instead of putting his body on the line, he put his foot out and tried to clear it, the rest is history.

LIke Burgoyne put his foot out to trap it??

Agree 98% Not sure about Strauss has he done enough?

I see 5-6 games of Casey each year as well as televised games

and so far I thought he has been only average in the games I have seen.

Admittedly I have not seen him this year.

I think Morton, Gysberts and Wonna are all improvements to the team given the form and pedigree of the players going out. Over the Hawks debacle, ready to re-load for the Lions. Carn the Dees

I'm really surprised to see Morton come straight in. I wonder if he'll be used as the sub?

I'd like to see J Watts as the Sub, given his good half game last week.

Interesting idea, methinks Morton would have to be the most likely given his versatility and limited preparation. Suprised by this choice but morton must have really impressed at training this week.

Really surprised with Petterd and Morton. Thought for sure Morton was going to run at Casey this week- shows how much i know!!!

Petterd is stiff and i wonder if there is perhaps a slight niggle that he would have been ok to carry into a 4 interchange game but the club won't risk it with only 3 interchange?

In any event i am happy with the ins and am looking forward to Sunday.

Good luck to Maric, Jetta, Petterd, Bate, Blease, Strauss and Warnock at Casey. The better all of these blokes play the better it will make us as a whole because of the pressure for spots they will put on.

I reckon garland will be a late withdrawal and Pettered to replace him.

If garland is out then warnock gets the nod.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Really surprised to see Ricky omitted .... he was a key to us salvaging a draw against the Swans.

Brisbane dont have a very tall forward line, we have Frawley and Rivers and Martin could go back if needed.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a latte change.

I had it in my mind, that Morton 'Should' come back through the VFL,,, But in my Gut, I've had this feeling that he was in.

And Petterd out, that doesn't seem right. We'll see.

He had a finger injury. It's not as though he couldn't run and build fitness.

Yes Maurie but if you or anyone else has played the game you should understand that there is a mammoth difference between running fitness and MATCH fitness. If you have doubts, look at Chippa last week. Morton never played a pre-season game, that's why there is question marks.

Morton for sub.

It's not so much fitness with Morton anyway.

It's regaining touch and game sense.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Some veteran Demonland Trackwatchers ventured down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you the following observations from another Preseason Training Session. WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
