How good would it be if he was picked for round 1 and turned it on in the goal square against the Swans.

The G would rock.

Can't argue with that...! LOL

Given that he was retained on the rookie list in the first place is it that out of the blue that he got the nomination? I'll admit it is a little amusing that the Newton saga continues but heck we aren't losing that much here - the club simply values a player with some experience to fill a gap if required. The younger rookies can still develop in the mean time at Casey and we have the mid-yr nomination up our sleeve.

It wouldn'r surprise me that we elevated Juice now, so we can have a look at him, before campbell returns from Injury.

I think we'll bring up another rookie when an LTI occurs.

Campbell injury is surely worse than they are saying.

Not necessarily, Campbell is backup for Jamar (or potentially the second ruckman if the Substitute rule is ditched). I see Juice and StefM competing for the same spot and I think the elevation of Juice maybe shows either a lack of confidence in StefM or a need for some redundancy in the relieving ruckman spot.

Ok on the face of it this is ridiculous....

BUT

This could be about putting him on the list for the following reasons:

1. As all have pointed out spare ruck and have one last look at him.

2. At the end of the year we need to make 3 compulsory delistings, if Scully stays it will be tight to see who actually goes. Maybe the FD figure they get a year to really look at he and Steph Martin and then at the end of the year it makes at least one delisting off the main list. They then only need to find another two. I get the feeling they dont feel they currently have 3 certainties to delist atm due to most players being early on in their careers. This could give them at least one easy out....

Just a thought...

I agree.

Well, Good luck Juice. I will cheer loud for you if you get a game. Not sure how you managed it, but well done anyway.

Go forth and grab your final chance at the club.

Realistically, Evans would have a hard time squeezing into the side when other fringe dwellers in Maric and Nev Jetta have had such great preseasons.

Agree and we also have Wonaeamirri whom played a blinder at Casey over the weekend.

Even though we are 'promoting' him to the senior list, it doesn't mean he is now a senior listed player.

He will just remain a rookie who is allowed to play in the team. When we come to delisting 3 players at the end of the year delisting Newton will only free up a rookie pick. (if the rookie list still exists)

Actually if the rookie list and the senior list merges into one will probably be the best thing for us, as we will be able to delist current rookies instead of current senior players.

He would become a bigger cult figure than the almighty 426.

Everyone who had ever bagged him out would be forgiven and we would all rejoice!

Does anyone if he has a g/f with Pia Millerish type componentry, that doesn't mind helping 'the team'..... that is the only possible way... :o

(can't believe i just wrote that..... no offence intended to our wonderful female demonlanders :) )

Since he is already injured, is there any chance we can put him on the long-term injury list now and elevate someone else??

What an absolute waste of money. We have to pay him more now to do what?

As others have noted he won't be available for the first 3 matches in any case. If he is good enough by mid-season we could have elevated him under the AFL rules. WHY NOW?

Does anyone seriously think he can fit into the 22? Up forward he would have to replace Watts or Jurrah. To be the shortest ruck in the contest he would have to replace Jamar, Spencer and Martin.

IF we get to this situation we would have been able to elevate him then under the long term injury rules.

If there were no standout candidates, then no-one should have been elevated. Don't reward mediocrity or seniority. We need those with the talent and drive to succeed ( ala Jordie McKenzie)

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
