From the article:

ST KILDA has suspended and fined four players - including grand final defender Zac Dawson - after they breached team behavioural standards on a recent training camp in New Zealand.

The Saints, whose pre-season has been dogged by the infamous nude photo scandal, have confirmed that Dawson, Rhys Stanley, Jack Steven and Paul Cahill misused prescription medication, drank alcohol and left the team hotel against a player established policy while on the week-long training camp.

They have been suspended from the club for six weeks and fined a maximum $5000 each after meeting with the Saints' leadership group on Monday.

What the hell is wrong with the Saints?? What the hell is right with the Saints?!

This ones a storm in a teacup. Off season fodder for the media.

The Saints ought to kick their arses hard behind the scenes though. Just dumb behaviour that puts the Club in a poor light

Thank God MFC players have not demonstrated similar behaviours.

But it surely must go to saying that whaever policies and mentoring are in place at this club...its just not working. StKilda ,for those that have ever stepped a little closer than sheer spectating will have often observed a very strange culture. Its morphed over the years but its essence persists. Theyre a strange mob indeed.

It is I agree in itslef nothig more than a few lads being dopey!! lol. But taken together with other events it reveals a club in turmoil. I used to have a soft spot for the Sainters...but now they are just laughing stock !!

Starting to sound like the West Coast Eagles of a few years back, the issues are becoming regular. The saints bubble has burst you can't keep getting this bad publicity. We saw Judd leave the Eagles, it won't be the Roo but if I was GWS I would be hitting Nicky Del and Lenny hard at the moment.

From Twitter SEN

Radio Sport NZ. Just told us @therunhome that the #Saints players were in a scuffle as well as urinating outside of a Queenstown restaurant.

Channel Ten just said that the police wanted to speak to someone about bringing forward false charges - so I'm not sure there's anything in this one.

Thats It, enough,,, send them to QLD quick, & trade for Fev.. Bring the lad home & the saints may win a flag before they waste away.

Better yet, Trade Fev for Kozi. That in all seriousness could be a win win. for the saints.

You are assuming it has to make sense!

May just be that they are dick heads.

Hmmmm... I'm starting to think TISM and I feel a paraphrasing episode coming on:

I know his dad's abusive

And his mum prefers the daughter;

I know he's got an attention

Deficiency disorder;

He is culturally excluded

And genetically inbred:

But the reason he's a sainter

Is because he's a dick head.

Tell me why?

Tell me why?

Tell me why... he's a sainter?

Tell me why?

Tell me why?

We all support empowerment

And positive discrimination

When your class, your race, your age, your face

Determine your social station;

A st kilda cap and a love of rap

Might need sympathy - but, still,

Possibly a sainter could be

A dick head pure and simple.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

    Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

    How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

    A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
