A great day and a great emblem.

Have a look at the real collingwood emblem and you will see that it too has much going on. As many posters have said, there is the club's official emblem and there will also be (i'm sure) some drilled down versions for various marketing areas.

Congratulations on the MFC Board for the courage and work to this point. Keep it up.

You're welcome to express a view. I'm not sure why people would have a problem with what you've said.

I agree.

It's pretty sad when people get criticised for commenting that the emblem's a bit busy...talk about precious.

I really like it. And I did the moment I saw it. When one starts analysing all that's in it I can understand some thinking that it's a bit busy. But I can only go off my initial reaction.

I don't think that one needs to start analysing it to form the opinion that it's 'busy'.

I was talking to a professional designer and the first thing they commented on was that it was pretty busy.

(While irrelevant to the point I'm making, fwiw they liked it).

EDIT: I'm not too fussed about emblems and so forth, but I quite like it.

Of course it's "busy".

It is telling a story of the club with the longest history of any, in the game.

Emblems (like family shields) are supposed to tell a story.

This one, along with the video, set in stone, the traditions of our club.

If it was plain and simple...what would that say about our club ?

Too busy, trying to be too many things at once

Yes it's busy. The club got busy and Demolished our debt, the members got busy supporting our club, the players are getting busy to win us a flag.

Footy's a busy game...

Great emblem.

I absolutely love it! The Emblem! of the Team we love!

Jimma & Schwaby have done us Proud...

So happy with the direction the Ol' boys are giving us.

5 ideas apparently are too many for some.

Come on guys.

Jimma has come to the club to Unite us, & here some can't help but attack there own, seconds after our best recent news.

If some have a different take on some things, thats fine. Lets not become cannibles. Enjoy that we can all share the interest we have for our Club, still & going forward.

Not too sure about the emblem. I'd like to see the demon back but not the wimpy impersonators that have been on our logo for decades. Its been like Richmond calling themselves "the tigers" but having Garfield as a logo.

I don't think anyone is having a go at others for having a different opinion.

I for one, was trying to explain what I see as the logic in developing a fully fledged emblem, with meaning.

Just saying it is "busy" with no explanation as to what "busy" means, nor how to make it just as an important symbol, by being less "busy" indicates that maybe some more work needs to be done to explain things.

100 years ago, "emblems" were very important.

In this age when we are bombarded constantly, with images and branding, perhaps the concept of what an EMBLEM is and what it represents has been lost in the wash.

This is not like "sunburst" launched by the Gold Coast last week. That is a "logo".

They don't have a history, yet.

We do.

Not just more than most.

But more than everybody else in the comp.

That is a great "brand" factor for us to use.

That is what this "emblem" does.

Some other clubs - particularly Collingwood - developed their "emblem" many moons ago.

We were "late" to the table with a really convincing emblem - the emblem of the team we love...now we have one!

Be proud!

Good point Rob, I'd forgotten about the Red/Blue box.

The one on the back of my car faded after a couple of months.

I'll be happy to replace it with this one - especially as it is "proper" one!

I think your right, I jumped in too soon. After reading some posts last week re the early leaking of the emblem, I anticipated a criticism & responded without reading the whole thread.

Actually the thread is encouragingly positive. My bad, whatever that means.

A great day for Us Demons...

I am not seeing much attacking if any, in fact this has to be one of the most reasonably debated threads in a while. I dont love it and it is ok to say that.

No, I wasn't having a go at people with different opinions, rather defending that.

I was having a crack at some, who personally attack others for having an opinion.

Anywho, back to topic. Sorry for the interruption guys.

They put it all on the Hun website. Amazing.

Inspiring stuff. I am so proud to be a Demon today. I've lived the ups and downs (mostly downs) for damn near 40 years but today I feel bullet proof. If Jimmy asked me to sell one of my kids to save the club I would probably give it some serious thought.

Great Emblem, fantastic, those few who think it's too busy are idoits. If you think it's no good let's see your design. Put it up and let us all critique it

Our club has a new emblem that is both inspiring and captivating.

I can just imagine the envy, opposition supporters must be feeling today.

Bring it on...

The interactive feature on the MFC website is a FANTASTIC initiative by the club and all involved! It is great viewing and gives a nice to-the-point view on what the emblem (and Melbourne) stand for in all it's glory.

Love it. :D

Agree 100%

It indicates how progressive the club is becoming/ has become, by embracing new concepts/technology,whilst also paying tribute to the club's great heritage, with the subject material it is applied to.

After 50+ years of being a supporter, I only hope, I am granted another 50+ years, to keep following : Go Dees!!

Sounds like you're also embracing new technology - nice one :)

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
