Is it me just me, or do our players get comfortable after a win at home??? We are absolutely shocking when interstate, and we aren't much better back in Victoria most of the time. I understand we are developing a young team, but we are so bloody inconsistent and it's the more senior players that constantly let us down.

But yeah, we really need to lift, and for those who think, we are young what do you expect, i at least expect all 22 players to give it their all. We just drop our heads so quickly when we are down and with no momentum, we barely give a yelp.

Essendon are pathetic, but we are RIGHT UP THERE too.

Holey moley why not go man on man and see how we go for a 10 minutes or so....

Bartram's been ok. Somebody needs to tell the team that Jurrah isn't going to take hangers all day long and a kick to a lead is a better option

The last two weeks, Garland has turned the ball over a couple of times in the first quarter. Most of the time, these turnovers have resulted in goals. He has to get better at this. I love him, but he's had a very ordinary start.

Why is Green playing midfield? He kicked 5 goals last week, dominated as a forward, has 36 goals for the year, and we start him on a wing/half-back. Not happy with that.

Also not happy with the loose man in defence. Why did we drop Morton to work on aggression and defensive work if we're going to give him the easiest job in football (loose man in defence)? It's not having an infleunce on the game; in fact it's hurting us as McPharlin is loose for Freo and he's mopping up our inside 50s.

I'm about to do the friggin dishes if it continues the same in the second quarter.

Seriously tho, I do not know why I think we might do allright this time. we wont and I learn again that I should just do other things when we play interstate.

I think we all do......

It is not good enough.

Ugh. I love this club, but some days I hate this team.

This [censored] is ridiculous. There is developing young teams, and there is watching a team come out not ready to play. We are asleep out there, giving away DUMB free kicks, our disposal is disgusting and we are just completely lost for ideas.

And when will our senior players stands up when we need them? Bruce, Green, Rivers, Moloney, all terrible or not seen this quarter.

Thank god for Scully. He is having a nice start!

I dare Bailey to play man on man football for a quarter and see the difference. And get rid of the loose man in defense, its clearly not doing us any good whatsoever.

Agree with green needing to be back in the forward line, why he's not up there i'll never know.

and people here reckon our midfield is okay now ? Don't kid yourselves, we still need a higher quality because Scully and Trengove wont be able to do it themselves. A much higher skill level is required.

In inheriting Robertson's 24 he's also inherited some of Robbo's lesser qualities. A little too selfish IMO at the moment.

Get your hand off it, it's his second game. there are a lot worse out there!!!!!!!!

2024 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

Had to shoulder more responsibility as the club’s injury concerns deepened but needs to step up more as he closes in on 100 games. Date of Birth: 31 May 2000 Height: 186cm Games MFC 2024: 21 Career Total: 95 Goals MFC 2024: 6 Career Total: 34 Games CDFC: 1 Goals CDFL: 0

2024 Player Reviews: #35 Harry Petty

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. 2024 Player Reviews: #22 Blake Howes

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. One to watch in 2024. Date of Birth: 7 March 2003 Height: 191cm Games MFC 2024: 15 Career Total:  15 Goals MFC 2024: 0 Career Total:  0 Games CDFC 2024: 6 Goals CDFC 2024: 0

2024 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

2024 Player Reviews: #10 Angus Brayshaw

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. 2024 Player Reviews: #40 Taj Woewodin

The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress. The clever small was unable to cement a place in the Melbourne midfield and spent most of his time this year with the Casey Demons where he finished equal fourth in its best & fairest. SLIP SLIDING AWAY by Meggs

It was a sweaty, slippery night at Cazalys Stadium, a tough slog with low scoring and missed opportunities.  The Hokball Hawks hung on to win by a goal and sit second on the ladder, relegating the disappointed Demons to, almost certainly, finals spectators.   We had to win this match. When news broke of late withdrawals of talisman Kate Hore and key back Gaby Colvin, expectations plummeted, and Demon fans despaired.  The bad news was the signature song of 2024, a season that’s
