White clash jumper for Blues?

RED! RED! MORE RED!

A bit of red trivia for you - at the 2000 olympics a study was done on the psychological advantage of colours - they examined all the Tae-Kwan-Do bouts for the whole olympics and found that the comptetitors who were given the red sash for their bout won 55% of the bouts, while those given the light/medium blue sash obviously only won 45%. he colours for Tae-Kwan-Do are randomly assigned on a fight by fight basis, so it's actually a pretty rigorous piece of research.

Red is an advantage almost as good as having an extra player out there!

Looks like schwabby is looking to return to a more traditional jumper

confirmed on his twitter thread

"Blood red and a navy slightly less severe than black is the objective. We are working on it."

"like this http://twitpic.com/kfcyy"

Here's the link to his thread as well:

This was announced at the Demon Summit last year. Happy with this initiative. At the time Schwab said over the years the jumper has taken on a gradual change, the red had changed when the quality of the jumpers changed - they'll make sure the blood red is blood red . It's time to get it back to what it once was. Blood red, with a sharper/narrower "V", and a dark, dark navy blue.

FFS let's not have the crew neck 't-shirt' style that the Pies have. Looks shouse.

The Bulldogs have announced they are now going with a new design - tight fit jumper - much like the NRL players wear. I think it's one of their newly signed sponsors too. Pity Schwab couldn't beat Rose to the punch on this one too.

The Reebok jumpers are rubbish, baggy loose things with no shape that for one look amateur and would be far easier to tackle and hold on to.

The Adidas jumpers are a bit odd around the neck, but as far as how they fit they are much better and no doubt would give players a bit of an advantage, even if it is just 1%.

EDIT: Great news about the jumper colours too by the way.

... and while they're at it, is there any possibility of them doing a redesign of the away jumpers so that the Demon on them looks a lot more ferocious, formidable and bloodcurdling?

Perhaps a few drops of blood coming from the sharpened teeth to scare the living suitcases out of the opposition?

I like the colour contrast we have now, I don't want the blue too dark, and I sure as hell don't want a collar on it....

just my opinion though.

those that remember the darker navy with blood red yoke will always consider it the smartest and most decisively "Melbourne" of all jumpers.

Ccolour Telly has a lot to answer for ..

Yes Exactly. I want our modern jumper to be the same hue as it was in the '50's, & if that means a collar aswell.....DO IT.

0R the players having blood dripping from a couple of sharpened teeth might work lol

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
