HT, I couldn't see anyone trading for Fraser. He potentially the most over rated number 1 pick/ruckman in the league, With his dodgy knees I don't think anyone would bother with him. He will probably be on the outer at collingw**d in a couple of years if not sooner.

The Pies will either lose someone like Fraser to someone who is desperate/or wants a ruckman for a pick ie. Hawks/Port. Or they will deal Leon Davis to the West to obtain the required pick(s) to secure L.Ball.

edit: I think !

TBH I thought the SCG might suit Ball.

I agree re: Fraser, and he hasn't much footy left IMO.

Only Collingwood love fraser.. he's zilch to any other club

Astute as I am, I'd like to believe it might be earlier than six years. I just think a experienced, Hard body with pretty good skills will really add and help develop a young midfield.

You hope it is.

Ball's body is anything but hard given the lingering OP he has.

Maybe he can borrow Sylvia's back tape to help him get over it....

Fail.

Whats the outcome were are you getting the live feed from??

didn't go through!

now the hard sell to convince him to come via the PSD

We shouldn't have to grovel.

If he wants to come to Melbourne, be a leader, get plenty of game time and get well paid, then he's welcomed to. Otherwise he can [censored] off to Sydney, or Richmond, or whoever else can afford him.

Disappointing that we couldn't package some of our higher picks for an earlier one, but all in all, good trade week result for Melbourne.

This could be a massive coup for MFC

If his medical screenings are clear and he hasn't got OP

Then this will do wonders for the MFC in terms of interest

That we can lure a Grand final player to our club which finished last

I know it's unlikely but it would be incredible.

Will Ball resign with the Saints or go in the psd?

Luke Ball, number 2 pick in the 2001 national draft. Come on Dees, get him to the club.

that is all we need to convince him of. no need to grovel

need to show him we are going in the right direction

EDIT: just listening to ross lyon. 3yr offer no longer on the table from them. he doesn't exactly sound enthused about trying to keep him. hard to see him staying

Ross Lyon now on SEN:

25 and 62 were offered, St Kilda wasn't going to use 62 and thought 25 was too low.

Says Ball will go away and think about his future, they most likely want him back, but he has the option of going PSD.

Their 3 year deal has been rescinded. If he wants to stay a new deal will be made.

Don't know why you guys are so keen on him. His body & groins are in worse shape than McClean's ankles.

Good times. Surely it's now either Melbourne or St. Kilda for Ball. We'd have more cap space than any other club. It wouldn't surprise me to see him patch things up with the Saints between now and the PSD though.

His manager said he will not return to St. Kilda. We will see.

I can't help wondering why they didn't play him and were happy to trade him. Could it be that his kicking is pathetic and he has lost all of his pace?

We've got money to spend, he'll cost us nothing in the way of picks, and is a good leader to have around the club.

Why the hell wouldn't be want him?

Time to pull out one of our famous Power Point presentations :D

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
