Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

WA Crowd

After last night they officially take the reign off collingwood as the most disgraceful and feral animals going around. And don't someone give me oh every club has them etc, they go to an extreme level.

The video footage of a freo supporter hitting a woman in the crowd is seriously low act of the highest order. I have been to games before where you get the odd melbourne supporter being a tool but the WA are two steps above.

Disgraceful

I didn't see this post until I had already written my thoughts in the Finals thread; I will repeat them here:

You've just got to love the Freo supporters... particularly the guy in the number 10 Freo jersey who started abusing anybody and everybody and when approached by a woman who told him he was ruining it for the kids, punches her in the face. Seriously, there is a very good case for banning the sale of alchohol completely from these kinds of events. I hope the guy does jail time considering all of the publicity the violence against women campaign has been receiving lately... there is absolutely no excuse!

Its not the crowd but rather individuals. The guy hitting the woman was discraceful. The crowd did the right thing by quickly intervening.

There were also a couple of unsavoury instances aimed at Hawthorn players... particularly bad was the guy getting into Breust after his nasty collision with the fence:

Also the guy who pretended he was about to take a swing at Smith as he saw the ball over the boundary. Some truly disgraceful things happened last night.

Not just that, the clowns all carrying on hanging over the fence aswell.

They probably thought that the flag was already theirs. Must be soul destroying to watch their heroes be taken apart in such a ruthless fashion.

Im hoping for a miracle today, and a Norf win.

I can only hope for the team buses have a head-on, if Hawforn, and the perth druggies both make it through. Wont watch a second of they game if they do.

I don't understand what anyone would have against Perth. Its a quaint little town, and I quite enjoy banjo music.

Finey on SEN made a fair point last night. One of the problems is that security over there really just consists of supporters of the club and they're shite scared to take any meaningful action (when they're not simply watching the match).

Bunch of meth-smoking miners, aren't they? The guy that shaped to hit Smith looked as high as a kite.

Disgusting people. Disgusting behaviour.

To be honest, I'd be right behind banning alcohol from games. I never drink at games anyway, because I'm actually there to watch the football. The amount of people that go along just to drink in the bar, it's pointless. Just stay home.

Hope that scum wearing the number 10 is severely dealt with.

Pretty much summed it up in your first sentence AF.

He's been charged with common assault, disorderly and obstruct.

The courts will come down hard with a $400 fine and a community based order.

Depends on the circumstances of the assault and whether the clown has a prior record.

Otherwise, every chance he will get a monetary fine and/or community service. Bond an outside chance but unlikely given the publicity this is going to get.

Even with a decent record I've never seen or heard of anyone getting jail time for those offences (in WA). Edited by Ethan Tremblay

" "While we are always disappointed in any behaviour that upsets other fans or reduces the enjoyment of the game, it's important to remember that more than 41,000 people were at the game and nearly all of them were well behaved," Domain Stadium's general manager Gavin Taylor said in a statement. "

This guy has the spin talent to succeed McLachlan. "Nearly all of them were well behaved" = "not very many committed prosecutable offences."

Only 100 kicked out last night when the average is less than 10...

Was there last night and the atmosphere for the vast majority of the 42k was very good, disagree with Dazzle because IMO every club has idiots. All 3 of the guys highlighted last night should be banned from sporting venues for life not just AFL venues. Apparently the clown in the Number 10 jumper was aggressive all night in and around the ground trying to start on a few people.

He should have been thrown out a lot earlier and a few of the men in and around the area he was should have acted a lot earlier, and not left it to the female ( who I know and is a former work colleague of mine). People like him get full of bravado when they are allowed to carry on without intervention.

I’ll post my response to this here as well:

I think there is an even better case for tracking people who abuse alcohol and take away their right to drink it. Why should thousands of responsible people be prohibited on account of a few who have no self-control?

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
