It was pick 13 + Mcadam. 13 pushed out to pick 19 on the night. Was not some monster offer that seems to be insinuated. Petty has already proven himself to be a fantastic backman, if he’s not a forward that’s where he will play for us for the rest of his career and he’ll be a brilliant Steven May replacement.20 points

Keep the faith, folks. Lisfranc injuries can be career ending. You don't come back at your best after a month. He needs patience.12 points

What I like about Turner is he crashes packs with force when going for a pack mark, he is also a good reader of the play and a good kick and mark.9 points

Interesting that Turner went forward and looked excellent until he then went behind the ball once we had the lead. He is too good for VFL, even after a stint off, is this the attempt to find him an AFL spot as the third tall forward if/when Brown wains? A good comeback against mature bodies on a skinny ground. There is something to work with, with Verrall, Pup and possibly Sestan.9 points

Just checked Big Footy and this this my all time favourite If that gollum looking midget goal umpire campaigner doesn't call that an imaginary touched goal, we win. What a ******* disgraceful game by the men in fluoro. Disgrace.. Oh what short memories they have !!!8 points

Wandered down today to sunny Franga, quickly inserting myself into the quarter time huddle and congratulating the Kolt on playing his first game. Max, JVR were there also. Very small crowd and found myself standing next to Alan Richardson, McWalter? and Goody. What I can say is that, through a little subtle eaves dropping, (I.e. reading a newspaper with two eye holes for visibility) the following definitely impressed Goody and Richo: Sestan Lachie Hunter - particularly second half. Verall Choco Williams is a great clubman. Gets around players. A master of instilling belief.8 points

I assume it's not just you because there's a lot of Laurie haters here, but his disposal is consistently his strong suit. His next disposal after your comment he laced out schache who dropped it. Every Casey played has had some shockers by foot today. I'm more impressed that with Laurie's defensive endeavour with 11 tackles to half time. His hands in short have been elite as well.7 points

Petty is clearly trying to make up for an interrupted pre season, which isn't helping his form. As he gets more match fitness across the year, providing he doesn't get injured again, I expect him to start owning the forward 50.7 points

Whenever I think of Bevo I think of the different halftime instructions Goodwin and Bevo gave to their players. Goodwins message was clear and concise whereas Beveridge was a disjointed old school babble.6 points

If you check today’s statistics l’ve probably got egg on my face. When the game result was being fiercely contested in the last quarter. Two team orientated interventions from young Jefferson contributed to the Casey win. A cool handball in the goal square melee to Pup Brown. Allowing him the minimal time and space to snap a goal to take the lead for Casey for the first time. Followed up by a goal face shepherd which helped extend the Casey lead. Very small steps in the big picture but there is a glint of light there. I’m hopeful the old adage tall forwards take time applies. But l can understand why people make early calls. I’m sure the decision makers don’t want egg on their faces. There was a recent contract extension provided to young Jefferson, so they are keeping the faith. But the ball is in Jeffo’s court.4 points

Might have gone a bit early on Sestan! Hunter fantastic second half. Given he'll likely play in a match sim next week must come in against the Tigers. Too good for this level. Laurie very good. Turner might need another one but an excellent first up game. Provides flexibility. Interest at selection table.4 points

Agree. Beveridge is full of BS. Libba doesn’t stumble or lose his footing. He simply loses his senses and falls. Have to applaud Parish for checking in him and raising his hand. There is the game and there is humanity. Parish 👏👏👏 Bevo 🥔 🥔🥔4 points

We are currently 2 short on our list without Gus and Smith, usual issue of injuries aside. As they were senior players, not just backups, it is more significant.4 points

He’s continued to kick goals though, as per his job description. He’s unfortunately our main forward and is up there with the best in the league at that job, despite his size. No he’s not necessarily tough and I have seen him take a few short steps over the years. I’ve also seen him show great courage in the air. I like that he shows a bit of arrogance at times. Sometimes our team seems to go out of its way to keep its head down a bit too often. He’s not a bull and there’s a certain element who seem to think if you aren’t jack Viney than you are lacking something but Fritschs strengths well and truly over power his weaknesses. A team needs balance. He has been one of the best forwards I’ve ever seen at the club.4 points

Watched it again after posting it. Dunno what it is, no matter how may times I see it, right toward the end of the 3rd Qtr my eyes start watering. Strange phenomenon I thought might go away but seems to be lingering. Also makes me feel happy and warm so that's a plus.3 points

How anyone can get stuck into Bevo as a coach is beyond me. Even a shallow dive into the stats say he's been a supurb coach. A deep drive into the stats says he's one of the best.3 points

JUH isn’t going anywhere. If anything I think that’s good for everyone else, as the dogs have a lot of talls on good money, but they still don’t have anything that resembles an AFL standard backline. Just on Jamarra, he looks an absolute superstar. He controls the ball at such height, and it all looks effortless. I was skeptical at first, but he’s going to be in the top 5 players in the comp. Goes to show it takes longer with tall forwards. Hang in there Jeffo.3 points

My first excuse for Thursday night is we’re tired and badly need a bye after 6 games. And yet last year we played 13 games without a bye and beat a couple of last year’s top 4 sides in the 12th and 13th game after 5 interstate trips. Last year in our corresponding 6th game we gritted out a win after coming home from a Perth-Adelaide double and had a total of 3 interstate trips as per this year. Why are we in so desperate need for a bye this at this time of the year, where as last year we went on a dominant patch between rounds 6 and 9 (albeit against lower teams). Or are we just too quick to use it as an excuse for our poor loss the other night? Max played like he didn’t need the bye.3 points

This situation with Liberatore collapsing towards the end of the game is very interesting. He and the club are claiming it was a tweaked ankle, but the vision clearly shows him being very groggy, and then collapsing into the ground. Parish was clearly concerned about him, as was Duryea. He took 2 hard knocks in the last quarter. Surely the independent AFL doctor needs to investigate that.3 points

Incorrect. Bont, Libba and McRae (why is he in the VFL) plus English is an A midfield. Inside 50 they have JUH, Naughton and Weightman. Plus Dale is excellent at half back. They have a list good enough to not lose to Essendon. End of story.3 points

Disappointed but not surprised. Brisbane with plenty to play for and we just weren't quite at our best. More of a vent than a question. 5 day breaks. We have 2. I did a bit of research and there are 9 teams who have one 5 day break through their season. 5 teams have zero 5 day breaks and we are one of 4 unlucky ones with 2. Is there any rhyme or reason to how these are given out? They are a blight on the game and without going overboard, I feel like they are dangerous. These guys aren't playing lawn bowls, it's an extremely intense, rough and unforgiving sport and the AFL are playing with players wellbeing, not to mention the quality of the game, purely for tv viewers and Ad revenue. We weren't at our best tonight and I certainly don't believe that was purely fatigue. There are areas we need to work on but 3 games in 13 days is less than ideal scheduling to put it mildly. The boys had to be feeling the effects of that. I think this bye will be great for us.3 points
