  1. I defended you when everyone was attacking your unpopular opinions about Gaff yet here you are attacking someone for expressing their opinions on a player. Its a forum where people are free to express what they want. Just because you don't like it doesnt mean he doesnt have a right to express it.

  4. At the airport feeling a bit crusty after Friday arvo work drinks turned into a bender at the local watching some classy girls jelly wrestling. I’m not as pumped as last week but still can’t wait to see the boys at the G. Melbourne here I come. ??

  5. I take exception to this and actually find it quite insulting. As someone who went through Reach as a 14 year old I saw first hand the impact that this man had on so many young lives. We all saw the Gillon press conference at the time the punishment was handed out, he could not categorically explain what tanking even was. I don’t hate Caroline, I don’t think she is a bit*h. However if you think that moving a few magnets completely voids Jim’s body of work then you might need to re-think your priorities in life.

  7. Dogs definitely deserved to beat Richmond there. Unlucky to hit the post so many times! Late in the season we have seen Richmond are clearly beatable at the MCG. I'd back 3-4 teams to beat them come finals time now, and I'm convinced they won't win the flag again. They're nowhere near as good the media makes out and I'd love for us to get a crack at them!

  8. Lockhart HAS to be drafted this year He is a small in and under midfielder that can play as a mopping up half back and a dangerous small forward. Kid can play anywhere with tremendous skill and composure. I don’t think he’s had as good a year as Fritsch had last season, but it’s not far off.

  13. Made a little quieter as a result of some unfortunate banter between people (not you DZ) who have been warned in the past about that sort of thing and had their posts hidden pending possible action by the mods. If people wish to make personal accusations about other posters, there is a procedure available - personal messages to each other in private and even then take care. The rest of us are more interested in the football than people’s vendettas.

  14. There will be many here in a tizz. It's an obvious decision, in fact the club would be crazy not to extend. Two more years beyond 2019 makes perfect sense

  15. Potting Watts, Motlop and Rockliff is barking up the wrong tree Port have a massive cultural issue with the likes of Wingard, Gray, Westhoff and Dixon Selfish footballers who never, ever involve teammates It might be Watts' last contract, ever, but Hinkley needs to take charge now or he'll be gone too

  17. Hate to say it but the Pies deserve their top 4 spot. They've been absolutely smashed by injury and kept pushing on. They also easy beat us on Queens Birthday. Finals are a new season..... lets see how things pan out, maybe we will meet them.

  22. It's the year 2119, and after winning the last 100 premierships in a row Melbourne's Head AFLX coach Simon Goodwin's head says "We're continuing to build strong habits, and as I've said for the last century, it's not where you are now, it's about where you are come Round 23, Stardate 2142.1"

  23. Hopefully they finish 4th and get a nice touch up from Richmond in the first week. Would rather none of them win the flag but I’m more attuned to Richmond’s BS right now than Collingwood.

  26. A lovely day at Casey with the faintest Zephyr blowing towards the (what do you call the end furthest from the sea.) The first half was close with great and frequent tackling by the Demons preventing the Seagulls from breaking away. Garlett played well and honours were shared between both teams. At half time it seemed that the Seagulls switched into another gear. They found space around the packs and their short kicking game started to take its toll on the Demons. In fact in the third quarter the Demons had few forward entries. The opportunities for Garlett dried up but the Demons managed to stay in touch until the last ten minutes or so when it seemed that it was free kick Seagulls time. What was particularly disappointing was the ease with which Willy got into scoring positions from behinds kicked by Casey. In the last quarter Williamstown took control of the air as well as the short kicking arena and kicked away. I'll leave it to the experts to discuss the finer points of who contributed what but I would say the Garlett's first half was good bordering on very good. His second half was much quieter but that reflected the team as much as him. A good first VFL final could see him back in the mix. The bacon and egg rolls weren't bad but I'm afraid I must rank them behind the Burra burger and the Frankston sausage sizzle. My first time at Casey Fields. Could do with some more trees but otherwise a decent ground lacking the heritage atmosphere of many of the old VFA grounds. From my time walking the field the ground was very soft which surprised me given the lack of rain. It was one level off near mud in some spots. I look forward to heading out again next week (especially since I now know where to turn off the main road to avoid what was a very pleasant drive through the new suburbs) and with the return of some key players

  28. jr, I think many teams are. Lots of people in my non-dees supporting circle are saying if we get a run on in the finals we will be hard to beat. They are tipping two of Rich/Haw/Dee Grand Final. I agree with them. Last week was a galvanising win. If we don't get 'stage fright' along the way we can do it!

  29. Considering this was equal or probably the worse lineup Casey has been able to put up all year given the injury list atm, not a bad effort in the first half. hopefully we get some guys back next week for the first home final

  32. That's it! Thanks. I wonder when they Geelong will realise their % doesn't matter. Maybe they are just showing off... What this shows is another distortion in the fixture. Non-finals contending teams usually have youngsters who tire at seasons end, with nothing to play for. They put the cue in the rack. If finals contending teams get 2 or 3 games in the last few rounds vs them they can get easy wins/boost %. Geelong have had two very easy wins and added about 20% to their percentage = Automatic entre to finals.

  42. I think it’s no longer possible to keep a lid on Casey’s Jay Lockhart - VFL 2018: Tasmanian Jay Lockhart is making his mark in the VFL after receiving state combine invite ”JAY Lockhart gave himself two years to see if he could cut it in the VFL. He has needed only one. In fact, Casey people will tell you it was apparent a few weeks into the season that the former Tasmanian was not only up to the standard, he would help set it.”

  43. Yeah mate, this game will be televised If Casey can snatch a win here they’ll finish as Minor Premiers for the 2nd time in 3 years. I think the inprovement in the AFL side has been mirrored in having a really strong VFL program. Hopefully the boys, who will be going in probably under manned, win in the weekend it’ll be a great reflection of where the club is at as a whole.
