  4. Yep Uncle Bitter had the inside on this. Spoke to him outside the Jim Stynes bar pre the Richmond game. The really exciting aspect was his comment that " I want to be a part of this". It seems the club has turned around and the players are on board for the journey.

  5. I have been given some inside new as to why Petracca is playing this weekend. WE NEED SOME ONE IN THE MIDDLE WHEN WE SING THE SONG AFTER THE GAME.

  6. Off the back of 2 wins and the smell of a possible third and a CP5 debut I reckon if you don't attend Etihad this weekend you never will.

  12. Dropping Bugg for his misdemeanour is ridiculous and would be one of the most stupid spirit deflating actions a club could do if it were to take place. Don't know how anyone could be serious with this suggestion. Might as well suspend all the players involved in the melee if it come to this.

  14. This is being overly precious in my view. For too long we have been meek and the whipping boys. All he did was point to where he was going. GOAL.

  15. Just finished the replay, can't see why so many want Harmes to make way. Only 11 possessions but was never out of the game and all his touches were quite classy. Brayshaw out is even more obvious to me after the replay. Very unlike him, seems way out of touch. Apart from him, no one deserves an out on form.

  18. Perhaps a bit of a financial decision as well. Debuting Petracca at our etihad home game will help the gate takings is maybe part of the consideration, knowing historically supporters stay away from etihad a bit

  22. Now is the time for any of those wavering and those who may have jumped off over the years to get back on board. Even a token membership will do wonders to get the juggernaut rolling. Any MCC members who haven't taken out the dual membership, pull a pineapple out of your pocket in support of the fantastic work by PJ, Roos et al to get this club back on track and starting to gain some respectability again. If we can get to 40k it will be a great achievement and stepping stone for next year and beyond to consolidate our position off field and within the AFL community. It will help with sponsors, home games and FTA exposure. Lets get cracking.

  25. Love how he just keeps saying "Yep... Yep... Yep..." to Roosy's waffle when he's probably thinking "Just tell me I'm [censored] playing Paul."

  27. What a silly old coot. Can you imagine the outrage if that had happened to one of his players while he was coach? He would've been out for blood. As if you needed anymore evidence as to what an out of touch, hypocritical imbecile Malthouse is.

  28. I have heard that sort of 'optimistic' statement far too many times over far too many years. Just beat up whoever the opposition send out regardless.

  29. He went well, and handled Slobbo's questioning like a public toilet door [censored]. Slobbo "So Maxxy, What would you do if you didn't play AFL??" Gawn "Well i ..." Slobbo interrupts "I bet you go to South East Asia, yeah that's what you would do, that's what I'd do." Gawn "I would be a pizza delivery driver, I worked at Dominos" Slobbo "Were you fat" Gawn "Yeah, I ate a whole pizza a shift." Robbo is an utter mong of a host.. he had every option to discuss topics that could let people who are not Dees supporters, know more about him. But Slobbo wanted to talk about South East Asia and being Fat... And that is the type of person who I picture this dullard to be. A drunk fat guy in a Lady Boy Club, oiling himself up for his next adventure. Well done Max.

  31. The pushing an injured player isn't a great look, but the showboating is gold and there isn't enough of it. Yes it can backfire but it's all part of psychological warfare to fire up your team and supporters and knock down the opposition. I love it and want to see more of it. Also want to see more niggle. Love that Buggy and Kent and some others give it to the opposition and have that arrogance about them. We've been push overs for too long. I've noticed if Nathan Jones gets into a scrap, his teammates charge in to support and get fired up. Every match Jonesy gets into a decent scrap, we win. I've kept track and now when I watch I sit there hoping Jones starts a scrap because then I know we'll win haha

  32. We have been the nice, sociable Demons for 10 years and getting our butt kicked. If Tommy Bugg wants to play unsociable footy & irritate the opposition then I say go for it. All he did was give a bit to the Richmond cheer squad & upset whinging Jack. He hasn't injured anyone, unlike some so called champs who like sneaky knees & elbows.

  33. Is it just me, or has Harmes' disposal improved out of sight over the last 2-3 weeks? Love the way he tackles as well! Definitely won't be dropped.

  34. I think he is struggling to get into the games as a forward, to me he looks much better when he has bursts in the middle, but struggles deep forward with knowing how to get involved. probably slightly down on confidence as well, i personally think the role he's playing is much more suited to Petracca

  35. Something I noticed for some odd reason watching the video of all our goals on the MFC website. If you go around 5.24 of the video, Frost gets a free kick just forward of centre. Around him are players including Gawn, Viney and Bugg. As soon as the umpire says it's Frost's free kick all three of them immediately sprint off into the forward line. By the time Frost kicks the ball to FF (he doesn't take too long), all three of them are at the next contest. That kind of running and spreading has not been evident in our play since...ever. It's a small thing, but it's those kinds of things I see us doing now on a regular basis.

  39. I had small stoush on air with Brian Waldron on SEN about this and then we punched on off air ! He suggested exactly the same as Age and I pointed out that is was not the initial shove - this was the grappling straight afterwards. He then said I can't have it both ways - it is high contact. Off air I asked him some questions - when two players grab each others jumpers - where do the grab ? he conceded around the collar. I then asked when they push and shove where are their hands ? He asked for my answer and I said - they are high like Vineys are - but i said he has missed the most important point - the pushing and shoving and show of strength does not have the strength like a punch. It has insufficient force. I pointed out that the picture he is looking at was something that goes on every week ! He then said "I know what I see in that picture". I said " obviously you don't or you wouldnt have passed of that picture on air as the initial contact" He then said " You can't convince me" I said "I can't convince you because you are looking at a still picture instead of the TV footage of the incident. I also can't convince you because you are a giant knobhead" and then i put the phone down. A bit childish i know but i felt much better.

  41. I am very happy with no one kicking bags. It gives the opposition coaches more headaches if we keep on doing what we are doing. Sit on Jeffy and Kent kicks 3 or 4. Put your best on Hogan and Watts kicks 3. Keep Watts and Hogan under wraps and Gawny floats down and kicks a couple or Pedersen kicks a couple as he did against Collingwood. Kennedy was quite but if you look at the possessions he did have - they were involved in goal scoring chains. Then we have our mid kicking goals - Tyson, Bernie and Oliver who has . A good spread of goal kickers works for me. ( just did a back of the envelope gathering of data - last year our mids kicked 43 goals. This season 5 games in they have already kicked 23 goals. - mids kicking goals is verrrrry healthy)

  44. Shoving injured players you'd hope doesn't become habit, but what's wrong with a little bit of showboating? It's not like he overdid it. Buggy isn't a star of the team and he knows it. So he plays it up when he kicks a goal. So what? I thought the shush to the Tigers cheers squad was fantastic and hope he doesn't tone it down too much in future. It's the same reasoning for why I love Garlett: swagger. Christ knows it's been a while since we've had anything resembling it.
