I'm really nervous about this. What if there's some kind of Frankenstein-esque mix-up and Terlich's skills end up in Jesse's body?25 points

Not worthy of a thread of its own. I understand the operation was successful and unless and until we hear otherwise, this doesn't warrant further comment.11 points

When I first heard about this a few months ago, I did a quick Google/YouTube investigation of Petracca's specialist Bill Knowles. He sounds like he knows what he's talking about. One thing I found particularly promising is his focus on not just "returning from injury," but staying uninjured year after year. He said that a lot of athletes focus on getting back, only to relapse not long after because their "rehabilitation" program (Knowles doesn't like that term, preferring to focus on the more psychologically appealing term "retraining") wasn't properly focused on the long term. Fingers crossed.10 points

Article about Christian's first day in the US:- Traccin in the USA An understandably low key start but I thought this was really intersting: "Billy said it is very easy to regain your slow twitch muscle fibres as endurance training only needs a few sessions to blow the cobwebs out and you are basically back to being fit again. But with sprint training, it takes a lot longer and you need time and patience to recover and regain that power and explosiveness that you once had". From the article it sounds like there is good communication between our physio, Joel Armes and the ACL rehab expert Billy Knowles. Hope they can weave their magic and get Christian back to where he needs to be to become a star for us9 points

Greene is an absolute idiot and hangs around with d1ckheads. Can't kick further than 35m and butchers it all the time. No for me and I don't rate Howe.6 points

not sure what's going on. Colin himself told my original source he'd signed Friday week ago. Since had mail he said at the bnf he hadn't signed. preference was to stay, but had options. not trying to hedge my bets - I try to be definitive. but this one has me flummoxed6 points

The stutter run-up might disappear over summer, but I think we all know the true secret to Hogan's goal-kicking routine.6 points

Unfortunately, there are plenty of Demon fans that think like this excitable Neanderthal. Honestly, we can't do things for the game? 'Just concentrate on winning' isn't an argument against being involved in a growing area of the game, it's an argument for good time management. And this will be good for the club in the short term, medium term, and long term. I am glad that we are still heavily involved in the Women's game and look forward to it continuing.5 points

Roos has been pretty awful on 360 all year. His gaff re the supporters, his continual reference to the past, his inability to adequately answer Mike Sheehan and the way Bucks has shown him up on numerous occasions suggests to me he should give 360 up next year.4 points

The whole thing's a disgrace. I sat down to watch Footy Classified last night and all I saw was this Laurie Oakes bloke rambling on and on and on ... I mean which team does he coach?4 points

I gather nobody actually felt a need to watch, as the whole show has been recreated in this thread anyway. "He's a [censored]" "She's a [censored] too!" "I don't care" "I think she's more of a [censored] than he is, she made vows" "I think he's more of a [censored], because mates and captains shouldn't do that" "I still don't care" "I think it is more awful if you have made marriage vows. Besides, everyone already knew he was a [censored], so it doesn't really count" "What are you, Muslim? Not that I'm saying blaming women is a Muslim thing. Of course." "I think it is really important that everyone knows how much I don't care" "Y'know, he was a pretty great footballer too." "Who Carey?" "No, Stevens." "Are you saying Carey wasn't a great footballer? What kind of idiot are you?" "Did I mention that I don't care?" "Can we trade Jeremy Howe for Stevens or Carey?" "Can we trade Jack Watts for the washing machine?" As for me, there's something about the Carey saga that triggers this little voice in the back of my mind going; "Wow, there is a man who is lucky he isn't Aboriginal."4 points

Zac Smith was on the outer for a while, now it seems to be Gorringe. I guess you could say, Gorringe is the new Zac. Thank you, I'm here all the time, try the fish.3 points

He is the perfect trade bait because other clubs would rate him higher than his actual worth which would allow us to upgrade a spot on our list.3 points

Do you also love his sub-10 disposal games and one way running? Seriously sometimes I think some of our supporters don't want the club to be successful. Much more important to be a nice club than successful.3 points

Notwithstanding my thoughts on Watts, was anyone else bemused by Roos' comments on AFL360 ? In my view he handled the question re potentially trading Watts horrendously. Fancy saying everybody is trade bait when we all know that's patent nonsense. Clearly Hogan, Brayshaw, Viney, Petracca, McDonald, Salem and a number of others are off limits. I fully understand the point he was trying to make, but it was unnecessary and one would think that a coach of his experience could have answered that question so much better. I know loyalty is becoming a thing of the past, but at least try and engender a modicum of loyalty within the group and a sense of belonging. Especially when one considers where this club has wallowed. All he had to say was, "Robbo I'm not going to talk about any individual players or their trade potential. Our list needs to improve and we'll be endeavouring to do that over the trade/draft period, but we won't be discussing individuals". So you can't rule out trading Jack Watts ? "Jack is a required and contracted player of the MFC and we won't be drawn into discussing individuals through this period." I also appreciate that Roos and the club would have made it clear that they shouldn't listen to what is said in the media through this period, but in my mind it was very poorly handled.3 points

If this is true, then we've landed the big fish. Our FD isn't foolish enough to throw Jack away for a bag of peanuts and they will also try to leverage Howe for something decent too, particularly out of GCS.3 points

My feelings on the Prestia situation are that we aren't out of the running until 5pm on the last day of the trade period.3 points

This is getting beyond the joke now... every single player that is delisted someone is silly enough to start a thread about us having a look. FMD if we are gonna trade out Watts wouldn't it be ironic if we then went and pick up this spud!3 points

Mad_Melbourne, you say that Jake is a sub-average bloke... that's an indication to me that you don't know him and are not in a position to judge his character, let alone his football ability. I get the feeling that Jake will stay with Bombers, so any discussion of what he could or couldn't add to our list is purely speculative. What I do know is Jake is a respectful, hard-working and sincere bloke who does his family proud!3 points

4 years on $400k+ with a potential 2 year ban for a guy that's 15th-22nd best player in the team that finished bottom 6 is a waste IMO. If this is what we can look forward to then God help us.2 points

I'd much rather Sam Dwyer, who has just been delisted by the Filth, than Melksham. I think Sam offers more as a footballer and we'd get him a hell of a lot cheaper. I'm not suggesting we recruit Sam either but I know who I'd rather have.2 points
