The tragedy of MacBeth. Nobleman and warrior meets three sports scientists who prophesy that he will one day be coach of Essendon, and then premiership coach! MacBeth knifes the extant coach, but in his quest for power, his fear and paranoia causes him to turn on his own confidantes and supporters. Urged on by his wife, his catalogue of crimes grows until finally, when Windy Hill comes to Tullamarine airport, he meets his downfall. Beware of McDevitt!14 points

A recent tweet from Ch 7's Tom Browne: Max Gawn has been in great form , and I understand he's right on the verge of re-signing for 2 , possibly 3 years @melbournefc #afl10 points

I was in touch with someone very close to Max today. Expect him to remain a Demon!10 points

Jeremy Howe is better than Robbo? The Robbo who is Melbourne's 3rd highest goal kicker ever? What absolute, unadulterated rubbish. Geez some past players seem to get unfairly denigrated on this site. It's bizarre. He's not even in Robbo's league.8 points

On triple M rush hour today they had Wayne Carey in and they started talking about Jesse. Well turns out Carey caught up for dinner with Hogan and Simon Goodwin who he is mates with and i think he mentioned Brendan Mcartney aswell.. I liked it.7 points

The current emblem tries to achieve too much.Good emblems have a known narrative behind them, eg, the Yankees, Carlton, Apple etc. Less is more. Don't need to cram it all in one emblem. Such an approach lacks class. And confidence. Just keep it simple. And stylish, which this does. Edit - iPad typo6 points

Like you, Red? I know there's this thing about 'if you can remember the 60s you weren't there' but this might be taking proof of your credentials too far.5 points

Interesting combo of dinner folk, dd. I would imagine Carey played with Goodwin at the Crows. Including Hogan (and maybe McCartney) at the dinner would suggest Carey may play a mentoring/coaching/development role teaching Jesse the 'art of FF/CHF play'. Leaning from the best! I like it!4 points

So.....Everyone wants to trade JH for a skinny 18 years old, who MIGHT become a player in a few years I don't have the stats for this year but last year when playing mostly in the back line he was 5th in general kicks 1st in short kicks 2nd in marks taken 1st in contested marks 2nd in rebound 50's He is a 25 year old 100 game player So far away from being a 1 trick pony it's not funny.....He has been maligned since he put contract talks on hold as DL's can't seem to get their heads around a player making a decision of his own future. He is a good player that I would hate to lose.4 points

If you're paid to provide information and opinions in a public forum I would have thought it would be best to appear with people who make you appear smarter, better informed and more articulate. The better question is why does Mark Robinson put himself in a position which makes him look dumber, less well informed and inarticulate? I've probably answered my own question.4 points

I hate the Cameron Schwab styled logo. Always have. I really like the traditional MFC style logo. Hope the club adopts it. And don't get some Demon style logo - looks tres ordinaire. The Demon is our mascot - not our logo.4 points

That was awesome, thanks for posting. Interesting that he grew up a Crows supporter, maybe people can stop posting that stupid pic of him wearing a Freo scarf now Billy Brownless dropping hints Jesse should move to the Cats - "You seem to spend a lot of time on that side of town" Jesse - "Absolutely dreaming" :)4 points

Roughly he was trying to justify the Hun's screaming headline implying Geelong were in bed with Dank the same way Essendon were. And that exhuming two-year-old stories to reanimate them is fair game because the stuff in those stories (kind of) happened. My previous opinion of Slobbo as a buffoon who can barely hold one thought in his head at a time, who can't even finish one sentence before abandoning it to move on to another stream of consciousness thought-let, was confirmed. Now I think that, in addition to the above, he is a slippery son of a witch who talks over anyone whom he thinks is about to counter him and shifts the goalposts to try to nullify any point made by anyone fortunate to jemmy in a few words between his bluster. As they say on bigfooty, he's a campaigner.3 points

They're both one ruckman players. All or nothing...we need to find a really good forward ruck. Funnily (or not so) enough Mitch Clark was that player.3 points

LOL , the AFL asking other clubs to stop calling Essendon drug cheats after they were sledged by GWS on the weekend. Welcome to the nanny state. Was good to hear Barry Hall on AFL 360 tonight saying that the Dons player are fair game and they should be allowed to be called drug chats and he would do it if he were playing!3 points

I don't know why players are keen to join the filth. They are treading water and other clubs will be on the up quicker than them.3 points

Crap? You've obviously never seen such gems as Off the Deep End - Insane Pools, which is one of the best series I've ever seen about insane pools ever. There's also Airplane Repo, where they pretend to break into airports to repossess light aircraft, or even better, intercept them while flying at 30,000 feet.3 points

Seriously It costs around $60-70m a year to run a club. They don't make profits (well maybe a small accounting profit). Stop whining. Its really easy to take pot shots but a lot harder to be pro-active. Make a suggestion. Be part of the solution if you think there is a problem. Contact the club and offer them your event organising skills. The night sells out so clearly many think it is a good night. You clearly have never organised such a large event (and not many have) but if you have ever organised a function like this you would know that you can't do anything with large numbers like that for under $200 a head. $250 a head is about right. What sort of alternative would you suggest? A BBQ at the G? I'd be really interested in your alternatives to 'reach out to supporters' whatever that means.3 points

I don't get the love for Fitzy.. He is unorthodox. Is not in our best 6 forwards, and yes that does include Dawes, and is certainly not in our best 6 backs. I would be very surprised if another team was interested in him as well. He is simply NO GOOD3 points

"Today it's unanimous among most pundits that the Dishlickers under Luke Beveridge are the feel good story of the season" This is what I want next year. I want the Demons to be universally regarded as the feelgood story of 2016.3 points

Nail. Head. Didn't have much time for Magner before this but hat's off to him. His response was gold..3 points

Loved Sellars remarks to Slobbo on 360 talking about his bad back incurred playing football, something like "how did you get yours fall off a bar stool?"3 points

Never forget that the Hird camp have tried to destroy us over the last 24 hours. Never forget that Mark Robinson of the Herald Sun let it happen and gave them the platform for it, then tried to dig up dirt on us in a shallow attempt to take the heat off the pathetic club he worships. Geelong supporters wont forget , and nor should we. If you have Twitter let the fat bald [censored] know what you think. [censored] Mark Robinson and [censored] the tabloid Herald Sun.3 points

Robbo is the fine upstanding man who last year wrote a scoop article revealing the names of 14 of the Essendon players, and in the very same issue of the paper wrote an opinion piece lamenting that players' names had been leaked.3 points

He is not a [censored] he is a slimy disgusting piece of work. Deliberately targeting Magner as he had appeared to have left the Dees unhappy and then quickly dropped in to Ess this preseason. Horrible muck racker trying to push this story off onto others.3 points

Good get...it is worth spelling out the exchange: jamesmagner @jamesmag23 5h5 hours ago @BMcLean_Ally @Robbo_heraldsun cheeky voicemail left by him yesterday sniffing around for a story on the dees! #writearealstory Mark Robinson @Robbo_heraldsun 22m22 minutes ago @jamesmag23 cheeky? Why go to Twitter and not ring me back. All I was going to ask was: did you get injections in the stomach... What a low act by Robbo...Hirds 'ambulance chaser'? Is Robbo so dumb that he needs to ask Magna: 'Why go to Twitter and not ring me back' Well done for Magna for exposing this low act!3 points

I'd be setting our sights higher than going after blokes who can't get a game for their current clubs or are right on the fringes, unless they fill a really obvious gap in the list. For every Josh Kennedy there's 100 Ben Newton, Viv Michie, Aidan Riley's.2 points

Personally, I'm a bit ambivalent about Howie, but I have every confidence that under the present administration, he will not be paid more than his 'realistic value' to the Melbourne footy Club. I would not have had this level of confidence a few years ago.2 points

Just wondering why he would have made a specific question about the location of the injection. Do they know the TB4 injections are done into the stomach (because that's where they got theirs)?2 points

that would be predominantly me doing that. Ruffles feathers, stirs the pot, gives me some joy in my otherwise sad life. That kind of thing.2 points

Forget the comparisons and other stuff. It's clear we have finally picked up a genuine gun (possibly a generational player). Let's enjoy what we've got. Let's hope the MFC can pay him whatever shite load of money is needed to contract him forever. Let's hope Petracca is a gun. Let's hope that Brayshaw continues inhis development. Let's hope the [cens ored] we win a premiership!! Soon!!2 points

Rofl! Robbo is such a nob. Trying to push the demons angle as far as he can to distract from Essendon, thinking he can get into an ex-player who may be disgruntled. Jimmy saw right through it. You ripper Jimmy. Also the comment from Brock was good too.2 points
