  1. Heritier Lumumba set to leave Collingwood, while Melbourne forward Mitch Clark eyes Magpies Article says Clark is close to naming Collingwood as his preferred destination while a straight swap for Lumumba is unlikely. First of all I don't care what anyone says on this comment. Mitch Clark you are an absolute snake and a Fwit of the highest order. We looked after you when you got injured and became depressed. You have not once repaid the faith and effort this football club has put into you. You want to jump ship to another club for success because the going gets tough for you?! pfft weak act! You will be lucky to get on the field. Karma will bite you right in the ass.

  2. Roos has already met with Dangerfield. Even rang his parents and put forward to them why he would like Paddy at the Dees. His old man was blown away by Roosy and would have no problem with him at all joining the dees, In fact he was rapt. End of the day its all up to Patrick with the final decision.

  3. I wasn't expecting Sylvia to smash it, but it's really surprised me in the level in which he has been a complete and utter bust over there. They'd have to be pretty disappointed, I reckon. Suckers.

  4. According to Quayle this morning, we could force Collingwood to use pick 8 on Moore by bidding with the Frawley pick on him. Surely, this will come into play with Clark, O'Brien, Lumumba, and anything else. Collingwood need to massage us a little bit I think.

  6. All the best mate. I am not sure Demonland or the Dees would be helping. Hopefully we are all better soon.

  7. Only 1 high pick, the thought of giving 2 top 10 picks for any player is absurd and would set the club back further.

  8. This is beyond the realms of imagination for every Demon supporter..... Similar to Roos coming to the club.

  9. Danger has expressed (maybe not publically) a desire to return to Melbourne (city) for the 2nd half of his career.... much like Judd. He has publically and openly refused to entertain an extension to his current contract. He is at least entertaining MFCs approaches, which is now a MFC offer. No doubt he is also entertaining other clubs offers. He is highly likely to leave Adelaide .

  10. I don't know why people always raise players like Blease and Tapscott as if they have any value whatsoever. These blokes weren't even close to getting a run in our rabble. The only value would be a good laugh for the Crows' recruitment department.

  11. Confirmed, Snuffleupagus is considering his contract status but is extremely disappointed his name was incorrectly spelt on DL.

  12. Yep [censored] him, if Pies wanna dish up a third rounder, let him walk into the PSD, pretty sure Saints have pick 1. He can take some shots of Seaford for his instagram

  13. I don't think it's overs. Draft picks (and Toumpas) carry significant risk - we of all clubs should understand that. Dangerfield comes with next to no risk from a "can this guy play" perspective. Any trade has to be weighted in Adelaide's favour to negate that risk. Downgrading one of the high picks to a lower-top 10 pick is a very small change in my opinion, it's the trade equivalent of loose change. Just as likely to get a gun at pick 9 as you are at pick 3.

  14. I think the suggestion that we get involved in the bidding over Darcy Moore to get an edge over Collingwood is repugnant. The likelihood is that someone with picks 5 to 7 is going to nominate him anyway because he's a genuine top 5 prospect but if we play that game, we deserve to have someone come under us and force us to use pick 21 or whatever on Billy Stretch. Craig Cameron always said that the clubs that played funny b@@@ers just for the sake of it would always end up with egg on their face when they really wanted to do business at the trade table and I don't recommend we get involved in that sort of thing over the son of someone who was, after all a former player who won a Brownlow Medal at this club.

  15. I reckon a pick and a player is probably fair anyway, I really think two top picks is overs unless we got their pick 9 back as well Brayshaw, Dangerfield and Mitchell being added to our side, now there is a dream outcome.

  16. Did I hear someone say Brock McLean left the club because of its poor culture? Is that the bloke who was arrested twice on drink related charges while overseas, who did wheelies on the Trinity car park damaging its asphalt cover, who attended funerals of gangland killers and who jumped ship to a club that tanked three years in a row and told three incredulous interviewers on a football panel show what the blind miner couldn't see? Had nothing to do with the fact that Carlton offered him lots more money and were prepared to give away a first round draft pick to make it happen, did it?

  17. That's right it was our poor culture, not $7.2m, that made him leave. I feel so sorry for him. Please never, ever blame the MFC again, for that dishonest individual dumping us.

  18. As long as Roos stays on in some overseeing capacity after his coaching contract is up, they can hire Elmo for all I care.

  19. Cats, Hawks, Dockers all had a go at him. All top 4 clubs. Yes FA is working a dream, bottom clubs lose their players and top clubs get them.

  20. I have no doubt about our capacity to pay. My question really concerns our capacity to attract. Then again, if anyone can do it, Roos can.

  21. I preferred the story that you were under the family couch at the time Dazzle. Would have loved to see his father's reaction when he heard an unaccounted for "YESSSSS!!!" coming from under the furniture upon hearing Roos speak.

  22. bugga the sauce, just photoshop him in a Demons jumper and stick him on the DL banner. Frawley off, Danger on.

  23. The point is the inconsistency is an absolute joke for a so called "professional" sport. Simple fact is he CHOSE to bump a player 7 meters from the ball with the intent to throw him off balance and prevent him from impacting the game's next contest. He elected to jump off the ground and as a result made contact with the head and caused Selwood to bleed. This action took Selwood out of the game for at least 5 minutes, during which time North capitalized with a goal. And this sniping little turd, great a player as he is, has form. Got no sympathy for him whatsoever. But as usual the AFL just make the rules up as they go.

  25. So in our toxic environment we develop Nathan Jones but not Col Sylvia. What is the difference. Nathan Jones takes responsibility for his actions and does whatever it takes to get better. Col Sylvia is lazy. Even Ross Lyon and Freo cannot get him off his backside.

  26. I can see the April 2015 Demonland mega-sook thread now. "I can't believe we paid overs for Stretch when [censored] was still available at pick 34."

  27. When was this changed? At an AGM? In a press release? All they changed was the formula for clubs to 'qualify' for one and they decided to keep that new formula secret giving the AFL Commission with the final decision. This Mark Evans nonsense about it being there for 'tragic and extraordinary circumstances' is patronising and sad. When Troy Broadbridge was taken from us, PPs were given to Hawthorn a month before and Collingwood 11 months later, and we were allowed to select Shannon Motlop in a Pre-Season supplementary draft. Or much more recently - did Port Adelaide get a PP when tragedy befell John McCarthy 2 years ago? They did not get any assistance. It is a utter disgrace that he has tug at the heartstrings of AFL fans to try and make us look like heartless flogs to ask for PP. Draft Assistance is there for the betterment of the competition when teams are so terrible that they need help. All Jackson is asking is for the rules, that we all agreed to, and that we must play by, to be enforced appropriately.

  28. Even with their glut of inside mids, I was surprised Bulldogs let him go. Didn't look anywhere near finished in the games I saw him play in '13 and had an excellent year for us. Could very well have snatched the B'n'F if not for the injury. It's not outside the realms of possibility that he'll notch up 50 games for the MFC.

  33. Ok, so I was chatting to an old coach of mine who happens to support collingwood, and we got on the topic of lumumba. This old coach of mine can talk, he has that much information stored, every now and then he deciders to unpack it lol. On this occasion, he told me about the last name lumumba and its history with the congo. I won't go in to too much depth, but it made me reconsider heretier and his motives for changing his name. Petrice Lumumba was a congolese independence leader and he played a massive role in developing independence from Belgium in 1960 and he was also the first democratically and legally voted prime minister of the republic of the Congo. Petrice was assassinated in 1961 by american and belgian governments orders. (theres much more to it) Heretier was apparently born in rio de janeiro to a brazillian mother and a congolese father. According to wiki, he lived in WA with mother and step after for a while and only found out about his biological father at the age of 19. I couldn't find any info that suggests he is a descendant of patrice, however its a good enough reason to wish to change your name to that of your fathers or your relatives. That may be a reason that he can be quite outspoken on his opinions also, he may feel that as sharing that last name, he needs to speak his thoughts on what is right. Who knows, but i found it interesting, and it changed my perception some what. Apologies for spelling errors.

  34. but he didn't hit above the shoulder it was the accidental following head clash after the bump that caused a glancing blow which didn't even faze selwood minor clash, deserved a free kick, that's all harvey may be a plick but doesn't deserve to be reported/convicted for that or we'll end up with players missing games every week for trivialities

  38. Why not? Makes sense to me - they are in desperate need of key position players. Pick 3, come on down.

  43. I must be a little naive. I'm still waiting to hear something official from Mitch, his manager or the footy club about MC wanting to move on before I lay the boots in. The old Asics have been cleaned and polished and are ready to go though.

  44. Ask Jones, Garland, Grimes, and so forth why they signed on and stayed while the little cry babies left. How's Brock, Brent & Tom doing at their new clubs? Port was a mess 3 years ago and on the verge of bankruptcy with no president or coach. Players stuck around, bought it, and they're about to play in a prelim. So easy to blame the organisation rather than the shite people who made their choices. I was never a supporter of the old administration, but they aren't to blame for players having a sook, lying or chasing cash. Roos and Jackson are a dream team, but they couldn't keep Sylvia (shame hey?), and they don't seem to be able to keep Frawley or Clark. It's on the players, pure and simple.

  45. I agree, and I expect that's the plan. The new coach - be it Goodwin or someone else - will also have two years having been involved heavily in the decision making and learning about the players, he won't be coming in cold like a coach from the outside. That pre-existing relationship has to be of massive benefit. This was how Roos became coach of Sydney in the first place, and Longmire seems to be going okay as third generation in-house coach. Sydney haven't hired their senior coach from outside their own system since Eade in 1995. I'd been really uncomfortable with this successor idea mostly out of fear of losing Roos, but as things start to take shape I can really see the merit in it and find myself at ease with the idea.

  46. All the best coaches were new coaches once. I'd rather take a shot at the next great coach - with all the risks that includes - than take on proven middle of the road coaches like Voss or Ratten. These names are the only really viable alternative to the new coaches; the best in the business don't tend to move around a lot. I know you're afraid of getting another Neeld. We all are. We could get another Neeld, but we could also get another Ken Hinkley, or another Neale Daniher. I'm pretty comfortable with that. Unless we get really lucky and Alastair Clarkson feels like a change of scenery, it's a new coach for me.

  47. There is a lot of truth in this rumour. I can confirm we are chasing Danger and have been for sometime. I can confirm long term discussions with his manager. However like most on here I agree its going to be a difficult sell to get Danger to the Dees. We are in the running, we can offer Adelaide the best deal, we can probably offer Danger the most money, but we are still a long shot. Much better than 1% as suggested by another poster, but still far from a level of getting excited. Roos needs to weave his magic. If he lands with the Dees we can thank Roosy.
