Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Selwood the winner

Pendelbury 2nd

Jones 3rd

some interesting votes but overall i think they got it right...

That was my prediction.

Well done Selwood for taking the honours but a great job also to Pendlebury & JONES!!!!!!!

While I'm not complaining about Selwood winning it, (as he deserves it) would he have been so good if he played in a weaker side. Selwood is the icing on an exceptional Geelong midfield.

Jones carried the can for us this year, and tried his guts out. I would've been so stoked had he won it.

I guess 3rd is a fair result.

Well done to the Jones boy. I expected him to come third, and would have been disappointed in the journalists if he came any lower. My pre-count belief that interstate journalists know very little about football outside their own states was proven correct. Robert Walls' status as a moron has been enhanced. That third place for Jones will sit nicely alongside the Bluey he will be winning in October.

Well done to Jonesy!

To finish 3rd overall when you consider that Selwood and Pendelbury have had a lot of support around them, and that Jones was doing it largely on his own, is a great effort.

Selwood is a very deserving winner, but I'm glad they've finally recognised all of Jones' efforts in what has been a very difficult year for his team.

He is without a doubt our biggest shinning light of 2007, and should take home the B&F next month.

I should also add that after the month he's just had, Andrew Dimitriou really could have done without giving Tom Williams two votes. If he truly thought that Williams was worthy of two votes and didn't just get his secretary to blindly fill out his voting form while he was on the toilet, then he should stand down immediately citing severe lack of football knowledge as the cause.

well done Nathan. A tremendous result given it was achieved with little assistance and in a team that performed so poorly in 2007.

A 2nd year player winning the 'Bluey'!!! No doubt this would be the first time it would of happened, if Jones were to win our B&F (which he should, unless the voting is rigged).

You may well be right. Danny Hughes won the B&F in his second season (1985), but he did have senior experience with Port Adelaide in the SANFL; and Steven Stretch also won the award in his second season (1987), but once again had played some senior footy with the then West Torrens Football Club. Sugar Healy won the award in his third season (1986) after coming up through the U19's. Would have to go back to well before the '80's to find anyone else who might have.

I still think Belly will be leading up to his injury against the Bombers, and Bruce will also poll well in the first half of the season, but the Jones boy should storm home. Only competition likely to be Junior and Whitey (based purely on his being out there each week)!

guys lets not get too far ahead of ourselves. Whilst jones is a very good young player..he did average 17 possies a game. I know that if Mcdonald averaged 17 disposals a game than people would be asking 'What the hell happened?'. so just a little perspective here please. For someone that plays substantial time in the guts 17 touches isn't that great..whilst it is great for a 2nd season player..age means nothing when it comes to winning the B&F. ..and 17 touches is no where near good enough for a B&F.

Well done chunk, good to see you get the recognition you deserve, the guys on sen all rate him quite high which is good as they have noticed him in a struggling side, and lets face it if we had played well all year and TJ, Chook, bruce and co all played 20 games he would have got less attention from opponents and could have done as well as selwood.

FCS he just got third in the Rising Star. He did it in a midfield that was absolute crap during the year and deserves the recognition he is getting.

How many possessions on average wins the B&F?

He is definitely in the running. Good on him. Its a pity there is a greater challenge for the B&F.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
