POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Brisbane

WE DID IT FOR JIM.

Too close and may need to visit cardiologist this week but it was worth it.

Who are we?

We could definitely play finals.

Chin , Fritta and Roo all fired up at the right time.

What an absolute ripper of an effort and despite some players having poor games, I feel bad being critical of any of them.

We overcame the reigning premiers.

No small task.

To the topper most of the popper most.

Also we’re just casually sitting above the lions on the ladder. Gah imagine we sorted out the bombers. Doesn’t matter though, I think this rebound tells us more about the team than a weird loss against the bombers who played out of their skins and have proven themselves to probably be on the up.

Kade Chandler, my word. It took me back to a young Colin Sylvia. Took it on

The lions player hit brodies hip, that's what got him dazed. Kozzie should be fine. But you never know with this tribunal. And the umps didn't pay a free

True! They love to line up Koz with suspensions so fingers crossed, but yeah those factors in our favour hopefully.

Great to win Jim’s game. I am sure he is smiling above.

Petty was in the players circle singing the team song and looked fine but am sure he will be out with concussion protocols given how he went off.

We should be a TV advert - Speed Kills

But [censored] I thought we were going to road kill, BNE looked like they were going to run over us but we had the luck of the Irish and a huge amount of fortitude, who doesn’t love this team’s heart?

Not only was that a phenomenal win, that was a [censored] amazing spectacle from start to finish. Pure entertainment. No bloody wonder we're drawing big crowds this year.

Langford was an absolute monster today. After his fumble early in the first quarter he did not put a foot wrong. Chandler's second half was elite, Langdon at half back was a stroke of genius, and JVR showed why we must not write him off.

This season has been such an exciting ride despite a couple of hiccups.

Queensland are our b***hes

Best quote ever

JVR went from calls to : "Play him at Casey" to "Play him in defence" to MOTY contender, 2 goals and another key set shot moment at the death, in the span of 20 minutes.

That is why you keep your big dog up forward and persist even through slumps in form. It only takes a few passages of play for them to impact a match!

Amazing we pulled this off.

Max didn't record a mark for THE ENTIRE GAME!

We were able to win without relying on his aerial dominance.

What a stat when was the last time that happened?

Could not get his hands to it.

Brisbane were doing alot of work of the ball on him.

Kingy has to seek clarification on this going forward alot of illegal checking getting to marking contests and in marking contests.

That was magnificent

started the 4th quarter very wobbly but we steadied and got the job done in a heart stopper

Chin excellent, JVR stepped up with some important goals and defensively Disco and Lever were very good

This season is such fun. reminds of the 2018 finals series. Really enjoying being a Dees supporter at the moment

and what a breath of fresh air Kingy has been. We are unrecognisable from last year

Roll on Friday night

Go Dees

I can’t remember a more fun 4 game streak at the G.

Sunday afternoon, beautiful weather, and a team that loves to take the game on. The crowd were so up and about again. We’ve been treated to some great footy this year.

Can it be craic at the G every week, that came through so well through the TV.

Especially after every goal we kicked.

I wish I was at the G today and each home game.

After looking through the archives, the last time Maxy didn't take a mark (and we won) was round 10, 2018.

For those who may not recall, this was when we were on an absolute tear and we destroyed the Crows up in Alice Springs.

Amazing game against the reigning best in the comp. Kade was great along with Langford growing. But I really like how Lattrell is developing his game. Not getting a lot of goals, but linking and running across the field and building his confidence at this level.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
