Change makes sense but poor Blinky "bubblo-o" bill(y) the kid.

Most important game for the dees in 3 years. We've started the year well but previously we would drop this game signifying flakiness which opposition pick up on.

Win on Saturday and it does herald a new way and mindset.

Robey debuting for the Dons.

Exciting player. Very happy with how our draft haul turned out but he's one I was very keen on.

Kicked 4.0 and had 23 touches on the VFL last week.

He looked good that game.

Although he kicked nothing the weekend just gone by and had 11 touches. Letโ€™s hope itโ€™s the same this weekend ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Best on-paper forward line since the days of Ben Brown and Tom McDonald (fwd version).

I'd like us to kick 8goals in the 1st qtr and win the game by 85pts.
That'd be a new mindset.
And one I'd enjoy.

Fritsch is back baby!!

Caddy and Ridley are good Ins for the Dons. I have a feeling the Dons will be a bit better at defending this week

The higher theyโ€™re up and about, the harder theyโ€™ll fall!

Funny how even after letting 3 club greats go, we seem to have heaps of depth all of a sudden.

Rivers, Laurie, and the guys who dominated at VFL level all seem unlucky (Max Heath, AJ, Jeffo, and Kentfield).

those were the days!

sideshow bob, plugger, and fritsch was an amazing leading, bullocking, and smart positioning combo that we saw too infrequently

mihocek has been a huge addition in 2026 - such a hard worker and such a smart footballer

@demon36 Agree - I am really wanting to win this. Brad Scott is a person who is so arrogant for a bloke whoโ€™s coached a team into the ground. Dees are in the media spotlight but often weโ€™ve had a โ€œdrink our own bath waterโ€ and lost the next week. Ruthless? We need to keep the standard. Lose this and we get to be laughing stock again.

Win this and we march back to the MCG to take on the reigning premiers on the match of the round.

Dees must win this โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

With apologies to Vitas Gerulaitus......

He delivered his legendary line on January 12, 1980, after finally defeating Jimmy Connors, who had won their previous 16 consecutive matches.

Yes, I'm old enough to be aware of his famous quote.

As he's well gone I suspect he'll be fine with the lack of attribution.

No apologies.

Are they playing VFL on Sunday?

They showed more defensive grit last week any team on a 17 game losing streak is getting closer to a breakthrough win, so above all else we must respect the opposition this weekend, play as per Kings instructions and take no shortcuts or get ahead of ourselves

Agree - strengthened by Caddy and Ridley back in a big way. Makes them stronger in defence & more potent forward. Dees need to lift to the challenge. I know Gawny will want to avenge last years loss. So should many others !!

agree. Win this week, as expected we should. And the football media will have to take us seriously. 5 games likely 4 wins. Shades of 2020-2022. So enjoy the ride. It does not happen all the time.

Losing 5 last year was the end of goody. No way back from there.

This could be the direct opposite. The sky could be the limit .

Statement game to the competition.

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competitionโ€™s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
