How about Luker in the reserves?

Spewing so much that I couldn’t be there. I’m so proud of him but not surprised at all.

As long as you have 100 true fans, you won’t ever achieve anything. Gold Coast is this. They lack soul, they lack an identity and they lack anyone giving a [censored] about them. They are essentially pay to win like free to play mobile games.

Handouts by the AFL allowed them Hardwick, Judas, Anderson, Rowell, MaC Andrew…. God, I hope they get picked apart, even if it strengthens Geelong or Collingwood. We may even get a chance to land Mac Andrew in a couple years time as Lever winds down to an end.

Did somebody tell CP5 this when he wanted out to GC17.

Ah well he got an extra year at $1.4 mil.

The journo went online & apologised. He meant to say jake melksham.

I can only assume it was a query about the late knock Melksham got?

4 goals, and next week would be his 250th game, played against his old club, at the traditional home ground of, um, Adelaide oval. Or, wait, is it Norwood?

Y'd think he'd play, eh.

Saints supporters in denial about Steele saying Flanders has more run. Delusional. Flanders is bog average whereas Steele a gun

Flanders playing like Ned

STEELE playing like the Man Of Steel..

SUPERMAN!

Are there still any Chander haters in the house, or are they finally starting to see why he'd be one of the first picked every week?

Was really good today Ghosty, Same with A.J, Um Jeffo could and should have had 6 goals and is the more 'Pure' forward but all three were really very good. UM MOOSE is not V.F.L Standard.. HE WAS BLOODY AWESOME!

He is AFL ready and sheeeit gonna be hard to fit blokes firing at Casey in!

As always Ghosty and yeah, deserved my bake from you!😘

4 and took good marks.

Bonzer game

When Latrelle has 2 years under his belt and has some idea what he is doing (no offense) he will be unbelievable

he is 100% on instinct atm

I know this is easy to say now but from the go I thought we would win that game. I have to admit Sharp is playing well and Kolt is playing well in a defensive mode. For the life of me I did not see Laurie on the ground and I was looking. It said he had 40% game time.

Media refusing to give us credit still what will it take before we get taken seriously, saying it’s due to gc having an off game not because we made them play 4qtrs

Who cares what the media say

Absolutely spewing I've been unable to attend the last 2 games.

But just love what we are doing & may the ride continue

I think you need to stay away. Don’t not want you jinxing us

We got into their heads!

In the last quarter their skills and composure abandoned them ... the perceived pressure as much as the physical pressure got to them.

Three home wins, maybe at last the G is going to become our fortress. Such a great team effort today with outstanding contributions from Max, Steele, Koz and Sparrow. Someone mentioned Max's tapouts improving this year. I think this is because he has a mid who knows how to rove to him, that man is Jack Steele. It reminds me of how Jones would run around the back and take the tap and break clear. Kozzie is in there as well.

The improvement I see is that King's game plan lets footballers be instinctive and play on at all costs, allowing them to showcase their talent. Sharp is the classic example.

Pulling back a little, the Suns have played an undermanned Geelong, West Coast and Richmond, then a bye. Maybe their first three games flatter them.

It's OK. I was there for our r1 win against stkilda

To be fair I thought Hardwick spoke well in his post game press conference. Full of praise for us and offered no excuses citing his mids were soundly beaten.

Agree. And I can't stand him.

Explains why they lost/we won in the first couple of minutes super clearly.

Contest, clearance, stoppages.

And the dees aree good team with a blend of good senior players and talented young players, playing a difficult to defend game plan that is reconisable

It may be premature given how early he is into his career, but I hope we don't get caught up the Jed Walter bargaining war at the end of the year...not convinced

I thought he was very good. How many marks inside 50 did he take.

All good, Picket 💖

What a nail-biter you got to see live!

I swear there are people here who say it takes 3 years to change a game plan....

As predicted their midfield was ordinary today 😁

And the predicted win was awesome!

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
