GAMEDAY: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda

Petty sometimes oozes premiership defender. sometimes.

Fork yeah .... This is fun footy.

Vintage Petty in the last line of defence.

Still super rusty but that was a glimpse of the gritty second efforts that made everyone love him a couple of years ago.

Even though we had a promising pre-season, given that we’re a new look side with new leadership, it’s still a huge relief that we’re not garbage. Especially how some other teams have started.

So glad van Rooyen has remembered how to play football after his amnesia last year.

Absolutely love the long kick forward to a player in space back in the MFC repertoire after a prolonged absence. Ditto forwards who protect the leading player instead of adding to the contest.

Not perfect but plenty to work with. I’m happy.

Awesome by Petty. Great effort!

Get him up forward hahaha.

Great game of footy to watch.

Will we have the legs?

Ooooff, bad decision from Checkers

We fluffed some easy goals in that quarter and we still kicked 6.

Pretty happy so far.

Wasted opportunities up forward that quarter🤬

do you ever have anything positive to say

C'mon man.
With our entries the last few years dumped on his head he didn't have a hope in hell.

I mean, i hope Fritsch wasn't calling for it too. SHot on the boundary from 40 is not an improvement.

Games gone past Lever ages ago unfortunately

Kolt on the improve

That was lame, was set up for a siren goal.

Also why is Sinclair talking like the saints are some Goliath team taking on a cellar dweller. New coach gives us a bit of a boost and they wish they settled a little better?

Haha pizz off Sinclair. Saints are spuds and won’t win anything for another 50 years.

Delight in my heart with a knot in my gut.

So much to love, excited by our forwards, enjoying our new style of play.

Salem & Petty keeping us from being annihilated down back.

Across half back looking lost and disoriented.

Loving and hating this.

Carn the Demons!

Great Q, fun to watch

King can implement a new game plan in a preseason. Massive first tick

Goodbye congestion & goodbye stoppages

Welcome back, 80's footy

A bit nerve-racking watching open footy and lots of goals again but that's part of it

I reckon fitness decides this match as there's not much between the 2 teams

We're competing well, just need a bit of luck

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
