He's a role player that would add value to our team similar to Melksham, Hibberd and Langdon who went for mid to late 2nd rounders. Our early 2nd round pick (23) is fair and if Saints get pissy I'm sure a swap of later picks will sort it out.

Are you suggesting he's worth a first round pick?

Don't be fooled by his past tagging roles. He was put into the midfield in the last 4-5 games as just a pure mid. And he excelled, he is a very good footballer.

i like the comparison with harmes

i dunno

windhager seems like the sort of bog standard defensively-minded inside mid who is a good, ordinary soldier and not a 'difference maker' to our side

I always thought Harmes did make a difference... for the middle part of his time at Melbourne, anyway. He complemented Petracca, Viney and Oliver really well while also being capable outside centre bounces.

He wasn't a turn-the-game player, but he made it easier for stars to do their thing.

THAT interception from Smith in the 3rd quarter in 2021 GF. Absolute game turner.

I agree, he certainly has a lot of potential but still don't think he justifies a first round pick. Particularly when he's out of contract and St Kilda allegedly low balled him with a 2 year contract at average pay and prioritised bringing in the likes of Silvagni and Ryan.

Their loss.

THIS

he's about to explode as a player, has good power and is as hard as they come.

I think people forget he’s only 22. He’s already a good player but he’s got a lot of improvement left.

Maybe its better not to all worry what he will cost at this stage, but rather get over the first hurdle of him actually wanting to play for us.

Again, agree he's a good player. But he's not a proven game changer (yet) and St Kilda haven't prioritised his re-signing. We only a future first at this stage which is likely a top 10 pick, possibly top 5. If it's up to me, I'm not trading that and rewarding St Kilda for their dumb list management decisions.

He's allegedly a loyal person and one of Nas's best friends. Saints wanted to keep him they could have easily.

Pick 23 for Windshagger is the most straight forward trade of all time

Throw in a future 4th to make SOS feel like a winner

Is this an update from Fines?

Fair point, hasn't officially nominated us yet so could all be a moo point at this stage.

The way things are going lately, this Windhager fellow will follow suit and nominate the Saints as his preferred home

Based on the two above posts, I'm pretty sure he's worth a late first rounder.

Ok might be wrong on this one! My son rates him... enough said!

Does your Son rate Jefferson ?

For reference he was taken at Pick 47 in the draft. I think he is a better player than pick 47, but id want some change from Pick 23 - that is over.

Pick 23 will be 30+ by the time it is used, it's unders. But I hope we don't offer any more if we can get Windhager to nominate us.

Was an academy pic (which it seems some clubs don’t waste time bidding on as it looks to devalue the guy they actually get somehow).

But also, once the draft is done they’re rated va the pick on the table. Our second rounder seems reasonable, just hope we’ve done our kalani/sinnema homework.

WE DONT NEED ANOTHER MID WE NEED A POWER FORWARD FFS

Wait what? Didn't you assure us that Jeffo has this covered?
