Gawn - great despite errors

Oliver - prolific but wasteful

Petracca - dynamism wasn’t enough

Rivers - has lost momentum

Bowey - another excellent display

Fritsch - had more involvement

May - outstanding all game

Sparrow - a bland performance

Salem - what’s his role?

Pickett - the real wizard

Turner - safe and reliable

Langford - needs a break

Chandler - some minor involvement

Tholstrup - lacked spatial awareness

Melksham - tried against odds

Petty - little to enthuse

Lever - steady under pressure

Van Rooyen - continued doing nothing

McVee - unobtrusive but effective

Howes - held important opponent

Lindsay - needs a rest

Windsor - limited game time

Langdon - unlikely effective tagger

My Opinion. Probably just semantics

Pretty good

Gawn was very average, hit to opponents advantage and his dreadful disposal is cause for concern

That’s absurd

Bowey - cool and skilful

Chandler - excellent first quarter.

Fritsch - made costly errors.

Gawn - dominant in ruck.

Howes - justified his selection.

Lindsay - struggling for impact.

Langdon - great tagging job.

Langford - pace too hot.

Lever - much improved display.

May - turned back clock.

Melksham - found going tough.

Oliver - a midfield tiger.

Petracca - power without finesse.

Petty - posed little threat.

Pickett - some magic moments.

Rivers - did his job.

Salem - past his best.

Sparrow - another mixed bag.

Tholstrup - added midfield energy.

Turner - elite defensive showing.

Van Rooyen - looked completely lost.

McVee - sound and efficient.

Windsor - more time needed.

I understand your view. 👍

Bit harsh on the younger players....... this is the top side we played !!!

Oliver : Most involved game yet

Bowey : Plays above his height

Langford,Lindsay, Windsor : This what the best side is like !!

Langdon: great team discipline

Chandler, Sparrow: need more involvement

Howes, McVee ,Turner : my doubts have been erased

Rivers : needs a role

Petracca: Tries too hard, let it flow

But is it.

It's a very vexed equation. Ruck outcomes.

Max was playing his heart out. I'm sure most were. But outcomes are the litmus...eventually.

Max won the duelling... but not so sure he won the day. Wasn't alone.

Reality is reality

Champion data for what it's worth rated Gawn at 17.6 v Cameron 10.0. In a head to head contest that's about as comprehensive as it gets. Gawn was excellent (again) against one of the other top level rucks in the comp.

Seriously give up the Gawn bashing. Greatest ruckman in a generation. Your negative obsession with him is bizarre and tiring.

Watch the replay and tell me.... how many times do we actually benefit from his ruck taps, and then get back to me... wins the taps.. maybee, but to advantage?? Let me know!!

We won clearances and Centre clearances . Gawn thrashed his top quality opponent . Can’t believe his 2 kicking errors lead to this sort of criticism

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

Following an injury-interrupted start to the season, McVee struggled to maintain the standard he established in 2025 as he pursued an expanded role within the team structure. He remained a firm fan favourite and the club had hoped to negotiate a new contract with the former rookie selection from Western Australia, whose partner, Lily Johnson, plays for Melbourne's AFLW side. Those hopes were dashed when he expressed his desire to return to his home state and play for Fremantle. Like all players who have worn the red and blue and are leaving this year, we wish him well in the future.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #5 Christian Petracca

The superstar Demon midfielder made a successful return to the fold after his devastating injury last year and the subsequent fallout from the treatment he received, during which time he sought to depart the club. Petracca's professionalism and strong play, both in the midfield and up forward, were outstanding and resulted in him being runner-up in the club's best and fairest count. However, early this week, the club's new CEO, Paul Guerra, confirmed that the under-contract Petracca has again requested a trade, adding that he would only be allowed to leave for a “quality offer that turns our head". No doubt some Demon heads are already spinning.
