Friggen Hawthorn game, had them by the nurries and let go of them in the last qtr.

We still didn't kick straight at times but never stopped applying pressure.

Hope the boys can kick on after this performance.

Side note only and it's been said ad nauseam but WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH TRAC'S SET SHOTS???

Always been bad. 50m out on a 45 he can bin them other than that he is a bad [censored] at fish and kick in general. Terrible technique

I think I prefer Fritsch as the sub if we see that sort of effort, was a different player.

What you can't knock is the unity and togetherness the team has

You can feel it. Despite all the media nonsense, Trac loves the boys and the players love the coach

If we stay healthy we could go on a run. I wouldn't want to be playing us right now

That win will give us a super shot of much needed confidence.

Traveling up there against vulture crowd members and dodgy umpires against the flag holders was a supreme effort and will really serve us well.

It also saw a good deal of struggling players find some very good form.

Max ix the gift that keeps giving.

Don't give me stick but I thought he wasn't his best for the first three quarters but I reckon saved the game for us in the last.

The Hallmark of a champion is stepping up despite not being at your best. Putting in behind you and then absolutely starting. They say tall players get taller as the game enters its last quarter and Max certainly stood tall.

I hope Kozzie never leaves this club. He and Bowey probably stood even taller.

Good to see Fritta showing great effort even as a sub. Spargo cops heaps here but while he didn't reign supreme like some, I think it's a credit to him how often he is out in space, miles away from the opposition.

It's interesting our best beats the best. I think mainly because we had a real functioning forward line for the first time this year. Most of that was due to Melksham. As I mentioned previously he gave his opponent a free drink after giving him a bath.

Him playing there in prior games would have us in the eight. Big call but after his showing today a fair one. Speaking of tals, he plays five inches higher then he is. If only we could take his intensity and passion and share it around. He's plenty to spare.

Gotta follow up now with the win over the swans. Do that and we're right back in contention for the 8.

Turner could be our best footballer

Actually made the call “wish we had two Daniel Turners”… one back and one forward. He was very good today. Very good

Bowey has become elite. What a great game. He missed that target on the wing, otherwise he was superb. Won so many clutch moments.

A game high 10 intercept possessions, 5 score involvements and 1 goal assist at 86% DE.

A+ Bowser! 👏👏👏

Top post AtG. It's clear the shoulder injury had a big impact on him.

Seems well and truly behind him and he shoulders a heck of a lot of the backline duties.

Pound for pound he's one of the best about.

Fritta even laid several tackles. Came on like a steamtrain.

Loved his anger nd mean face when telling the boundary ump off when he didn't give that deliberate out..

His showed some attitude we haven't seen for a while!!

Sheesh, It was hard enough convincing one that I was worth the effort!

I’ll disagree on Spargo. He cost us multiple goals today and on top of that turned the ball over badly.

When Sharp was subbed, he had more score involvements, more scores, more pressure acts, more meters (Spargo was -03, I didn’t know negative meters gained was a thing), more disposals. Spargo got slightly better but he also can’t kick over 20 meters.

I’m not saying Sharp is the answer but Spargo sure as shizen is not.

Spargo was an extremely important player for us 2021..deserves a chance after nearly 18.months out..

Noticed X wasn’t in the team photo after the game. Any truth to the rumour he went to hospital?

Jake Melksham is my father.

As much as anything, losing Melksham for the 23 finals cost us dear. Not the only factor, but a major one.

Still getting my head around the win. Want to watch the replay but "we have to watch eurovision."

Speaking of things European, loved the round ball practice paying off big time!

Without watching the replay (see above), does Bowey get easy possessions, or does he just make them look easy?

Didn’t seem to be in the song either. Think it’s true

Bowser reads the play brilliantly and makes good clean disposals. 200 gamer IMHO.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
